Look at this amazing group of women (and little Beau Dean)! This is the group that makes a reality. Day in and day out, this team ensures that your dogs, cats, puppies & kittens are getting the very best care possible. Our mission is to keep the pets of our community healthy, and we are committed.

As part of our employee appreciation week festivities, we had the chance to get a sneak peek into the construction of our new hospital - Hard Hats required.

With less than 90 days to go, everyone is getting excited. A few highlights of the new Shamrock Animal Hospital:

Our new facility was designed and programmed with both cats and dogs in mind.

• 𝗔 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘀, with spaces that help reduce exposure to the noise, activity, and unfamiliar dogs that can make veterinary visits stressful.
• 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗯𝘆 offering a quieter, calmer waiting environment for cats and their families.
• 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲-𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀 tailored to cats’ comfort, handling preferences, and medical needs.
• 𝗗𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 for medical services and procedures, allowing cats to receive care in a space separate from canine patients.
• 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮 providing a peaceful place to stay, away from barking and canine activity.
• 𝗔 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹, 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀-𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 that recognizes that cats experience their surroundings differently—and deserve an environment designed with those differences in mind.

How long have you worked at Shamrock? 
Since 2013.
 
Would you ever own another German shepherd? And what is your favorite thing about the breed?
If I had a yard at my house and maybe more time, I’d consider it. I think Raju (my GSD) was one of a kind. But for now, I’ve downsized to a Swedish Vallhund and a Corgi. My favorite thing about the breed… they are super smart. Smarter than most people.
 
What are your passions in life beyond working at Shamrock? 
Fiction writing, following international politics, trying to memorize the London Underground system… you know, all the usual things. And of course, spending time with my pets.
 
What curly hair products do you use? 
I have a rotation of different things, but nothing too expensive.
 
How many animals do you have at home? 
Four! Two dogs (Runo and Poppy), two cats (Izzy Hands and Jim Jimenez)
 
Do your dogs have passports?
Love this question, but no. Passport schemes for pets are woefully lacking in North America.
 
What is your favorite memory when working at Shamrock? 
Definitely the people and pets I’ve met along the way.
 
If you could give any pet owner advice, what would it be and why? 
Enjoy every minute with them; you are their whole world. And don’t use an AI chat bot for medical advice. :)

Every morning, Dr. Fagan leads a staff huddle to discuss cases for the upcoming day and to review any items that need follow up from previous appointments or previous days.

The team has been know to be quite fond of large cups like Yetis or Owalas. As part of Staff Appreciation Week, today's staff huddle theme was, "Bring Anything But A Cup".

While we try to make everyday Staff Appreciation Day, every October marks a formal week of recognition for all members of the team from the technicians that you have come to know and love over the last 10 years, to our awesome front desk staff to our kennel technicians who go above and beyond with each and every one of our overnight guests.

We've got some fun events planned for the team and a few surprises along the way!

Jeff & Dr. Fagan make our team the center of the Shamrock universe and we couldn't be more proud of each and every person who is part of our delivering the care that you have come to know, love and appreciate.

Ten years ago, we became the owners of Shamrock Animal Hospital. As we celebrate this milestone, our greatest feeling is gratitude—for you, your pets, and the team who makes it all possible.

You’ve trusted us with first visits, gray muzzles, joyful milestones, and difficult goodbyes. You’ve shared your stories, recommended us to friends, and made us part of your families. That means more to us than we can put into words.

To our team, past and present: you have helped make these ten years so meaningful. We see the care you give—the gentle touch that reassures a nervous pet, the patience you offer a worried owner, and the way you support one another when a day gets difficult.

We’ve shared laughter, tears, long days, and so many moments worth celebrating. Your skill, compassion, and dedication have shaped Shamrock into the hospital our clients know and trust. We are deeply grateful for everything you give to our patients, their families, and each other—and proud to work beside you. 💚
