How many years have you been with Shamrock?
•7 years December 2nd.
What’s the most memorable experience that you have had at Shamrock?
•Visiting Lowell prison and the ladies of WOOF program who train the Patriot Service Dogs!
What is your favorite animal to work with?
•Dog vs Cat, Dog.
Has your infectious laugh ever scared a patient?
•No, but I have got some side eyes before!
If you weren’t allowed to have dogs and cats as pets, would you pick a honey badger, a raccoon or a squirell?
•That answer is clear, a squirrel, because they are tiny fuzzy chaos agents with a built-in obsession with snacks.
What’s your favorite part of being a vet tech?
•I get to work with animals all day! How cool is that?! But honestly there are so many rewarding aspects but probably helping a sick patient back to good health, and seeing them for years to come.
What patient has left the biggest impression on you throughout your career?
•There are always your “favorites” or the OG’s who have boarded with us over the years and even the tough cases, each one of them hold a special place in your heart, I could name a million of the best but the BIGGEST impression, my very own soul dog, Gunner. I was just a wee baby vet tech when he was diagnosed with a liver tumor in March of 2021. I learned so much through the process and was able to have two more years with him! I wasn’t just a vet tech but I was a pet parent at that moment and that has continued to help me every day. I show up not only to hold the patients paw but to help the parent in any way I can.
If you could give every pet owner one piece of advice, what would it be?
•Take them on vacations! They are only here for so long and sometimes it’s cut too short.
