Let me be honest with you for a second. 🐾
Your puppy jumping on your kids isn’t a phase they’ll grow out of. It’s a habit that’s getting more reinforced every single day — and a bigger dog makes it a bigger, more dangerous problem.
I see it all the time. Families who love their dog but are dreading interactions between the pup and the kids. Constantly intervening, constantly stressed, constantly saying “off, OFF” and nothing changes.
Here’s the truth: jumping is one of the easiest things to train — when you know what you’re actually doing. A few minutes a day and some consistency goes a long way.
Your kids should feel safe with your dog. And you should actually enjoy having them in the same room. 🙌 Change is possible! My inbox is a judgement- free zone- let’s come up with a plan!

Using obedience while playing with your dog gives you the benefits of play with relationship building and impulse control skills too! If you’re not here yet, that’s ok too, just use the leash to reinforce what you’re asking for. Eventually it will be automatic and you’ll be able to work their brain and their body!

Hi, I’m Leila — and I’m so glad you found this page. 🐾
I’m a dog trainer who truly believes that a well-trained dog changes everything. Less stress at the door when guests arrive. Walks that don’t end in a pulled shoulder. A dog you’re proud to show off — not one you’re constantly apologizing for.
I work mostly with families, because I know firsthand what it’s like to be juggling kids, a full life, and a dog who has a little too much energy. (My Lab Finn can relate. 😅)
My approach is practical, positive, and built around your real life — not a perfect training environment.
If you’ve been thinking “we really need to work on that,” this is your sign. I’d love to chat about what’s going on with your pup and how we can help.

Here’s something I tell my clients all the time:
A 10-minute sniff walk > a 30-minute rushed walk. Every time.
When your dog gets to stop, smell, and explore — their brain is working. That’s enrichment. That’s fulfillment. And that tired, happy dog you come home to? That’s why.
You don’t need more time. You need more intention. 💛
Save this if you needed to hear it!
