Sweet little Arnold gave us quite a scare this past weekend. On Friday night, his foster mom Amber contacted us with concerns that his breathing was compromised. We already knew Arnold has general congestive heart failure, which can cause labored breathing, but what Amber was seeing was extreme.

Amber rushed him to Carolina Vet Specialists in Winston and they started providing care for him immediately. He spent the weekend in their oxygen tent and was able to go home on Sunday. He is much improved and on some new medication.

We want to thank Foster mom Amber for acting so quickly. And we want to thank the staff at CVS for providing such great care for Arnold.

Today, we are celebrating one of our absolutely incredible volunteers! If you’ve spent any time at the Lodge, you already know that Pam has the biggest heart—especially when it comes to our feline residents. Her love, patience, and dedication mean the world to both the cats and our entire team.
​Pam, thank you for always going above and beyond to make sure our sweet kitties feel loved, safe, and cared for. We hope your day is as bright, beautiful, and special as you are!

🐾 A Moment of Gratitude & Reflection 🐾
​Lately, there has been a lot going on—not just within the walls of our cafe, but in our personal lives as well. In the middle of the busyness, we wanted to take a quiet moment to pause, breathe, and look at the incredible community surrounding us. We are so deeply grateful for every single one of you.
​Moments like this remind us to step back and look at the bigger picture: We HAVE a mission.
​It has never been just about rescuing cats; it’s about what happens after.
​It’s about the cats who were surrendered, no matter the reason.
​It’s about the ones whose time was ticking away in a crowded shelter.
​It’s about the cats facing health issues that make others hesitate to adopt, and the seniors who have age working against them.
​Our mission is to step into that gap. We are here to support our cat community and to heal the ones who have carried heavy burdens and trauma.
​Not everything we experience can or should be shared on a social media page. There are heartbreaks, struggles, and quiet moments behind the scenes that are meant to simply be held close and prayed for.
​Today, we ask you kindly to expand your hearts. Don't just pray for or support us—please send that love, energy, and help to everyone out there fighting the good fight. Lift up the independent rescuers, the people managing community colonies, and the ones bottle-feeding vulnerable kittens who were heartbreakingly cast aside like trash. They all need your strength right now.
​Most of all, we ask you kindly to just be kind to one another.
​The world can be a heavy place, but kindness? Kindness doesn't cost a single thing.
​Thank you for walking this path with us, for loving these cats, and for being the community we can lean on. 🤍

🚨 FOUND CAT – HELP US FIND HIS FAMILY! 🚨
​This incredibly friendly and loving cat was found this morning, Sunday, June 7th, near Dobson. Cat is safe, but we know someone must be missing him dearly!
​🐾 About cat:
​Behavior: Extremely sweet, affectionate, and people-friendly.
​Appearance: Gray and white tabby markings, a distinct pink nose, and beautiful green eyes (as seen in pic).
​Location Found: Dobson area.
