Miss Ruby completed our Basic I Course! 👏✨

This golden girl has been working hard, and one of her new skills is the “place” command—she’s showing it off perfectly here! 🐾

“Place” is a powerful tool for creating calm, structured behavior in the home. Whether guests are coming over, you’re cooking dinner, or you just need a moment of peace, having your pup confidently settle in one spot helps prevent jumping, begging, and overstimulation. It builds impulse control, teaches boundaries, and gives your dog a clear job to focus on.

Over the past 6 weeks, Thurston has worked hard on building a strong foundation in obedience, learning commands like sit, down, place, and recall. His focus, confidence, and responsiveness have improved so much, and we couldn’t be more proud of his progress! 💙

Thurston’s dedication (and his owner’s consistency!) truly paid off. We’re excited to see him continue growing and putting these skills into practice every day.

Button has been working hard on her recall and we are so proud of her progress! 🐾

Recall is one of the most important skills a dog can learn—it keeps them safe and gives their owners confidence both on and off leash. Button has been learning to come when called, even with distractions, and she’s starting to respond quicker and with so much enthusiasm!

We’ve been focusing on making “come” the best thing ever through consistency, rewards, and lots of positive reinforcement 💙

We are so excited to welcome Gunner to Blue Paw Dog Training! 🐾

Gunner is currently enrolled in our Basic I Course, where he’ll be building a strong foundation in obedience, confidence, and good manners. Today, he took a big step in his training journey by heading out to Main Street in Mount Airy for a socialization outing—and he did great!

Socialization is one of the most important parts of raising a well-rounded puppy. Exposing young dogs to new sights, sounds, people, and environments helps them grow into confident, calm, and well-behaved companions. Experiences like today help Gunner learn how to navigate the world around him in a positive and safe way.

We’re so proud of the progress he’s already making and can’t wait to see him continue to grow throughout his training! 🐶✨

Arrow graduated from Puppy Kindergarten today! 🎓🐾

Arrow has been working hard learning all of his puppy foundations and building the skills every young dog needs to succeed. From basic commands to improving his focus and confidence, he made great progress throughout the course.

We’re excited to see Arrow continue his training journey as he moves on to the next course to further develop his obedience and strengthen everything he’s learned so far. Great job, Arrow! 👏🐶

Rebel completed our 6-week training course and we’re so proud of him! 🎓🐾

During his time with us, Rebel learned a full set of new commands including sit, down, stay, place, and recall. He’s also made huge improvements with his reactivity around other dogs, cars, and outside distractions. Through consistent training and structure, Rebel learned how to slow down, focus on his handler, and make better choices in busy environments.

Watching his confidence grow each week has been incredible, and his owners now have the tools to keep building on everything he’s learned. Great job, Rebel! 👏🐕
