Sadly, we won't be selling any starts this year. I know many of you have been asking but we had to take a hard look at where our priorities were. We decided to focus more on our home garden, homeschooling our kiddos and progressing our property before we decide to do anything else with the public.
Thank you for all your support last year, it was so fun to meet many like-hobbied people! If you're wondering where to get your tomatoes this year, look no further than the farmer's market, Blue Rouge on Broadway, Gordon Gardens or Seed Cupboard Nursery in Royal city.

The fields are alive with the sound of.... birds eating all my berries!! Next year, row covers are in order. I've yet to eat a single ripe berry! These mustard are outta control guys! I didn't even plant it! Tomorrow, it gets hacked down.
But πŸ‘€ at those 🌻growing! So excited!!

This stretch of soil might not look like much but it contains a plethora of bulbs, tubers, corms, rhizomes and baby seedlings that are going to turn into the most glorious cut flower garden! πŸ€žπŸ˜„ I'm speaking life and positivity into this stretch of land more than any other on our property right now. We still have another water line to install on the right side so there's 2 on each side since there are 2 rows of flowers in each side 😬. It's going to be wild guys, but so beautiful πŸ˜β€πŸ’

While I was digging, planting, planning... we had our steer, Mr. Yam and his buddy, Jagger delivered to our pasture. He's fluffy and sweet! Already a year old so he will be butchered in the fall probably.

Also in the background was my lovely husband using our new-to-us tractor, which we fondly named "Little boy blue" to brush hog the grass and weeds where we are putting the new water pipes for the wheel line. That will be to water our PUMPKIN PATCH! πŸŽƒπŸŽ‰

Stay tuned for the actual count of how many bulbs and such went into the field today.

We just planted 400 strawberries y'all!! Still working out the kinks in the watering system as not all the burned holes line up with the drip tape holes... not sure how that happened πŸ€”.... don't let the picture deceive you... this was before things were tacked down correctly.
But, check that off the very long to do list!

Today I potted up more marigolds in hopes of getting them out to the greenhouse. I'm running out of space inside and the tomatoes need more room to grow on until May! I potted up 2 six packs of tomatoes and it turned into an entirely new tray! I may have gone over board on tomatoes y'all! It's my favorite part of growing a garden so I planted 24 of each variety...I think I have over 25 varieties 😬 You do the math because my head is spinning!

What's your favorite part of starting a garden each spring? Or what is your favorite thing to grow?

Progress has been made through blood sweat and tears (no joking) today. It's rough putting in bricks, just ask my back! Those are 2 new raised beds courtesy of the bottom of the apple bins from my dear friend. I love repurposing things! Also, that is our first bloom of the season! So sweet 🌷... the last photo is the lemon balm in the greenhouse. Y'all... the little heater is doing the best it can but it can't keep up with these 20-something nights! I made a makeshift tent for my babies out there tonight... we'll see how they fare under it.
G'night...sleep well! Even if you have to take ibuprofen and extra melatonin to do so! πŸ˜„πŸ˜΄
