It’s ! Thank you Grant County Health District for helping keep our community safe.

Did you know that it is Washington state law that all dogs, cats and ferrets must have an up-to-date rabies vaccine?

If your pet is overdue, call us to schedule an appointment!

This , we're recognizing a special partner in public health: Dr. Maier and the team at Pioneer Veterinary Clinic!

For the past several years they have generously helped us safely handle bats for rabies testing. They provide this support at no cost, simply because they believe in helping protect the health and safety of our community.

Rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms develop, but it is preventable. When a bat may have exposed someone to rabies, testing the bat can help determine whether life-saving treatment is needed.

Public health works best when we work together and our local veterinary clinics are an important part of that team. Their work goes beyond keeping our pets healthy, they're helping save human lives too.

Dr. Maier and the Pioneer Veterinary Clinic team: thank you for your compassion, expertise and generosity. We're grateful to have you as a ! 🦇

We saw our first axolotl at Pioneer Veterinary Clinic!

While we routinely see and treat reptiles, amphibians are a bit more of a rarity. This adorable guy was not feeling well but he still had a smile on his face! 😊

He was brought in for decreased appetite and some swelling. Dr Chelsea examined him and discussed the importance of proper housing and care, recommended a few changes and sent him home with a couple of medications to help. We hope he's feeling much better soon!

We are excited to be able to see more unique exotic species at Pioneer Veterinary Clinic! If you have an exotic pet, give us a call and schedule an appointment with either Dr Chelsea or Dr Maier! 🦎🐢

Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day!🐾❤🌈
This is a day to honor, remember and celebrate the pets who have left pawprints on our hearts forever. We encourage you to share a happy memory or your favorite picture of your pet that has crossed the bridge below in the comments.

🌈The Rainbow Bridge Poem 🌈
"Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...."
