🐾 AKC vs. APRI — What’s the Difference? 🐾
I get questions about the difference between AKC (American Kennel Club) and APRI (American Pet Registry Inc.), so I wanted to explain it in simple terms.
📜 AKC — American Kennel Club
AKC is generally the more widely recognized and sought-after registry, and AKC-registered puppies are often priced higher. AKC maintains pedigrees, registration records, breed standards, and offers dog shows and other events. AKC also has DNA parentage requirements for sires once they have produced a certain number of litters.
📜 APRI — American Pet Registry Inc.
APRI also provides registration, pedigree records, record keeping, and dog shows for purebred dogs. APRI also offers dual registration, meaning an APRI-registered dog may also be registered with AKC when it meets AKC's requirements.
APRI also works with its sister organization, American Hybrid Club (ACHC), which offers registration for certain mixed-breed dogs like Cavapoos.
🐶 So, are APRI papers “real” papers?
Yes. APRI is a registry that maintains registration records and pedigrees for the dogs it registers. It is simply a different registry from AKC.
And because APRI offers dual registration, you will actually find plenty of dogs that have both APRI and AKC registration.
💰 Do you actually need the registration papers?
For most of our puppy families, honestly, probably not. Most families are looking for a loving family pet and never end up submitting their registration paperwork. Registering a puppy is an additional expense, generally around $25–$50 depending on the registration and options selected, and isn't necessary to enjoy your dog as a family pet.

🐾 2027 Cavalier Litter Update 🐾
I’ve already started having families reach out about our 2027 Cavalier litters, so I wanted to give everyone a little update!
2027 is going to look a little different for our program. ❤️ We have spayed a couple of our girls, which means our number of available litters will be smaller moving forward.
Our two newest additions, Tesla & Martini, will both be turning 1 this fall/winter. Once they reach the appropriate age, we’ll begin completing their OFA health testing. Because health testing and making sure our girls are mature enough to safely have puppies comes first, we will not plan litters from either girl until they are close to 2 years old.
Because of these changes, as of right now, we anticipate having only 1–2 Cavalier litters maximum in 2027.
We’re slowing things down temporarily while focusing on quality. Our goal has always been to raise happy, healthy, well-socialized Cavaliers and to be thoughtful about which dogs we continue in our breeding program. 🐶❤️
But if you don’t want to wait until 2027… you don’t have to! 😉
We still have a few beautiful babies from Dallas & Kirby’s July litter who will be ready for their families shortly! So if you’re hoping to add a Cavalier sooner rather than later, send me a message. ❤️🐾
With fewer litters planned for 2027, we expect those spots to fill quickly!

🐾 HELP ME FIND A HOME FOR EGGROLL! 🐾
Eggroll — or “Eggs” as we call him — is one handsome ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. ❤️
This chunky, goofy boy is 3 months old and truly one of a kind. He is an absolute sweetheart and has such a fun personality. 🥰
Eggroll comes with:

✨ Current vaccinations
✨ Current preventative dewormings
✨ Microchip
His dad is AKC & APRI registered and OFA CHIC tested, and his mom is from our original bloodline. She has been DNA tested and OFA tested for cardiac and patellas.
And if you know me, you know I don’t normally discount my puppies like this. In fact, offering a puppy like Eggroll at this price feels like a huge disservice to the years of health testing, planning, and work that go into my program.
But here’s the thing…
💔 I’m genuinely sad that this sweet boy hasn’t been spoken for.
Eggroll was a C-section baby, and he has always been a little extra special to me. He is the kind of puppy who deserves to be someone’s spoiled baby.

🐾 𝑃𝑢𝑝𝑝𝑦 𝐺𝑟𝑢𝑒𝑙 / 𝑀𝑢𝑠ℎ 𝑅𝑒𝑐𝑖𝑝𝑒 🐾
What You’ll Need
Pedigree Puppy canned food
Regular dry puppy food — Diamond Puppy or Taste of the Wild Puppy
Warm water
Puppy probiotics
Optional: Canned pumpkin or Dyne
How We Make It
Start with the canned food.
Put the Pedigree Puppy canned food into a large bowl or shallow pan and mash it down with a fork.
Add water.
Stir in warm water until the canned food is loosened and has a smooth, mushy consistency.
Add the dry puppy food.
Stir the dry kibble into the canned food mixture.
Add more water as needed.
You want enough water to allow the kibble to soften completely. Stir everything together and let it sit for 10–15 minutes so the dry food can absorb the water.
Mash and mix.
Once the kibble has softened, mash it down and stir everything together. Add additional warm water until you reach the consistency your puppies prefer.
Add probiotics.
Mix in puppy probiotics according to the directions on the probiotic product.
Optional additions:
Canned pumpkin — can be added for extra fiber.
Dyne — can be added when additional calories are needed.
Goat milk powder — can be mixed in for extra flavor and nutrition. Follow the product's directions for the appropriate amount.
🍼 Adjusting the Consistency
For puppies just learning to eat, make the mixture softer and more soupy. As they become comfortable eating, gradually make the mush thicker with more softened kibble and less water.
Tip: Make smaller batches as needed and serve fresh. Always provide access to fresh drinking water as puppies transition to solid food.

📦 PUPPY DELIVERY & MEET-UPS 🐾
We truly prefer to meet all of our puppy families at our home whenever possible. This gives you the opportunity to see where our puppies are raised and watch how they interact with their siblings and our family. ❤️
That being said, we completely understand that some families live several hours away, and asking to meet halfway is not an unreasonable request!
With two kids in preschool and one still at home, meeting somewhere outside of our normal routine does take a little coordinating. 🫣
Once a deposit has been placed, we are happy to work with you on a meeting location:
🐾 Within 2 hours of Lincoln County, MO: We can meet halfway or arrange a convenient meeting location.
📦 Delivery: If you'd prefer for us to bring your puppy to you, delivery is $1 per mile, round trip, which simply covers our gas and travel expenses.
We want bringing your new puppy home to be as easy and enjoyable as possible, while also making sure we're able to balance our family and our puppies. ❤️🐶
