Parents — let your kids do the boring stuff.

If they can’t walk and steer, they can’t trot and steer.
If they can’t balance at the trot, they aren’t ready to canter.
If they can’t go catch their own horse, groom it, tack it up and take responsibility for it, how are they supposed to lead that horse from the saddle?

Going faster does not equal getting better. Strapping your kid to a horse and sending them into the arena isn’t making them better, it’s setting them up to get hurt.

You might think watching your kid walk circles isn’t exciting. You might think they should be cantering, jumping, running barrels or “doing more.”

But sometimes they’re simply not ready.

And respectfully — that’s why you hired an instructor. Because knowing how and when to progress a rider is our job.

We aren’t holding your kid back. We’re building the foundation that keeps them safe and makes them GOOD.

You don’t get to skip the boring stuff just because it’s boring.

We are in the middle of the week of the last summer camp before school starts. Lots of fun so far even with it being so hot 🥵! Awesome group of kids. We got smart and decided to do a lot of the riding in the shaded area of the arena. Enjoy the pics so far!

So, the one horse who never spooks at anything is literally about to either hurt herself (or me) over the freaking fireworks! She is in the outside stall and hearing them is not as bad as her seeing them. She is totally losing it. Going to be a very long night out here. They are going off all around us. Poor girl, I debated about turning them out and very glad I didn’t because she would have ran right through the fence! I am sitting out here with her and she is a little better. Hope and pray all my horse peeps and their horses are ok.🐴🙏❤️😩

June camp is done and what a great group of kids! I do need to get better at taking more pics! A lot of fun and great memories were made.

It has taken me a couple weeks to post this. Over the many years of horses in my life and the losses of many a great one, this one kinda hit me hard. I guess because it was the final end of the dynamic duo. Stormy has been in my life for 21 years! We lost his buddy “Spice” a few years ago and “Stormy” has crossed the rainbow bridge and back with his buddy now. I will never forget the day Libby (Barn Mom) came into the barn telling me about this little guy in a back yard with weeds taller than him and we have to get him! So of course, we did! Oh the many adventures over the years with these two! The joy and smiles from the children. The two adventures I think of the most is when I get a call in the middle of the night and they got out of turn out area and was running around in Bent Tree! Took a lil while to catch them with all the winding roads and hills! Then moved here to Tennessee and they escaped again up the mountain behind the barn! We got lucky again and found them! I could write a book about all their shenanigans. I am very blessed to have had them and have so many photos and memories! Running free now ❤️🐴💔 All my barn girls from GA to TN share your stories and photos!

Puddles is here to help with the summer camps and lessons. He did very good today with Scarlett. They both enjoyed their time together.
