Your "AHa! Moment" is just the beginning of proficiency. 10000 reps, or 1000 hours. Mastery takes time. And it's not as simple as repetition. One must analyze and evaluate. Feel and focus. Especially physical skills
It's one of the reasons I teach the way I do. The ability to "figure it out" translates to a lot of different pursuits. We dont have to constantly show and tell. Puzzle solving is a great way to accelerate learning.
I did things the hard way, so you don't have to. The system must develop. It must not stagnate. Tradition is recognized, but it can't be a ball and chain on development. We have to pursue better and more efficient methods of training and teaching.
It's one of the reasons why we're one of the best at what we do.

What is our goal?
How do we achieve it?
Why did it/didn't it work?

Puzzle solve.
Show.
Tell.
Drill.
Train.
Puzzle solve again.

Opportunities present themselves. Focus and awareness must be present in order to capitalize. Once engaged, the task must be seen through to its conclusion. No stopping to evaluate. Any deviation must be addressed amidst action. Chaos becomes order when viewed through the lense of preparedness and knowledge.

There's not many places where you can whack someone with a stick and get away with it. At it happens a lot. We're that kind of weird and that kind of cool. Our weapons program is the best you'll find to create a base in offensive and defensive tool use. It's not simply stick fighting. That's the fun part. The system is developed to install motion and mindset for any sort of tool in your hand. We also address the defensive side of dealing with threats when you are unarmed.

This program is fun and challenging in ways no other program can be. Come try at 1pm Saturday! Practical skills. Attribute development. Martial mindset.

Here's at we love to fight. But we love the fun stuff. Rollie-pollie jiujitsu is just that. We do t get into that "street vs competition" thing. Skills are skills. Focus and intent matter more than anything in a fight. The incessant need to crap on someone else's work really shows a lack of confidence. There's no "wrong". There's only the wrong thing at the wrong time. Inverting in jiujitsu! Sure! Anytime is a good time. Inverting in mma? Not recommended, but give it a shot and see. Inverting in a street fight? That's very likely the wrong thing at the wrong time. But even then it could work!!

Don't be stooge. Learn all the aspects of fightingbif you intend to be in a job or a place where physical confrontation is frequent. For your everyday person, Jack of All Trades is the way to go.

Every day I get and go do what I do because I know what it means to people. Without yall I wouldn't be here doing what I do. I do my best to give back and I truly try and be the one you see and hear. There's no faking who I am. Can you imagine someone thinking I'm faking this? Have you met me!? If I was gonna fake it, this certainly ain't it. 🤣

I just wanted to take a second and say thank you to everyone who have said recently how much means to them. Some days doing this ain't easy. But it's always worth it.
To see the adults and kiddos developing skills, and becoming who they are...that's something not everyone gets to see and do. It's one of the perks of being a teacher and coach. Whole others can't see their own progress, we see it clearly. It's what we do. We guide. We encourage. We teach. It's an interesting lot I've fallen ass-backwards into. Lol

Today, parts of our team completed their annual fitness events before the rain came.

As part of our wellness and performance program, officers voluntarily participate in a series of fitness events once each year. Officers who successfully complete the events at or above the required standards earn an additional two vacation days annually.

We’re proud of the dedication, discipline, and commitment our officers continue to demonstrate — both on duty and in maintaining the physical readiness needed to serve our community.
