Let’s hear it for our amazing Vet Techs and Assistants who keep our engine moving daily! These folks work long hours, get bitten, peed on, sweat, miss lunches, miss dinners…. all while soothing, comforting and helping heal our patients (always feeding cheese off their fingers).

Happy Veterinary Technician Week!

This week, we celebrate the incredible veterinary technicians who go above and beyond every single day for the animals in their care. From comforting nervous patients and monitoring anesthesia to assisting with procedures, educating pet parents, and providing endless love and compassion, vet techs truly do it all! 🩺🐶🐱

Behind every wagging tail, purr, and successful recovery is a team of dedicated people who work tirelessly to make a difference. The long days, emotional moments, messy jobs, and sleepless nights are all part of a job fueled by a whole lot of heart. ❤️

To all of our amazing veterinary technicians: Thank you for your hard work, dedication, compassion, and the countless things you do that often go unseen. You are the backbone of veterinary medicine, and you deserve to be celebrated not just this week, but every day! 🐾✨

Help us show our vet techs some love in the comments! 💕👇

Edit: FOUND 🫶🏽

We are devastated to share that yesterday our sweet Tangerine left for a trial run and once home with the family a loud noise spooked her and she took off into the woods. She was last seen in a red harness with a retractable leash dragging. Friends and neighbors began searching right away and we were notified several hours after- her the foster went immediately and walked for hours but had no luck finding her.

We did hire someone with an infrared drone to fly over the nearby woods and had no success. We do not want to lose hope and are turning to our community for help. Please keep your eyes open, look out for Facebook posts of found dogs.. she went missing off Neuse Road in Pamlico area.

Volunteers are setting up traps and trail cams hoping to catch a glimpse of her. (Thank you so much for the support and help 4 Paws of Pamlico)

Tangy is skittish with people she doesn’t know.

Our hearts are absolutely aching and we desperately want to be able to bring her back to us- If you happen to get eyes on her please just calmly talk to her / offer treats- do not chase.

We love you Tangerine and we hope you will let us find you.

Thank you for all of your support and assistance. Please keep Tangy in your thoughts.

This is a courtesy post:
Sweet Kiera is looking for a new home. Her owner's circumstances have changed, and he can no longer keep her. A friend has been paying for her to stay at Mitchell Village, but funding is running out.
She was an only dog in her previous home, so it was just her and her human. She has been nothing but sweet since coming to Mitchell Village, but we are unsure how she is around cats or children. We do know that she does not do well with chickens. We have introduced her to other dogs here at the hospital and she does ok with them if they are submissive to her. She doesn't do as well if the other dog has a more dominant personality.
She is around 7yrs old.
If you are interested in adopting her or know someone that might be, please contact us by responding to this post, emailing, or calling us.
