🐾 Intermediate Trick Dog is Moving to September! 🐾

We’re postponing the start of our Intermediate Trick Dog class until Tuesday, September 1st at 6:00 PM!

This class is a great opportunity to build on your dog’s trick skills, increase confidence, and work toward more challenging behaviors while having fun together. 🐶✨

At The Responsible Dog, we're passionate about training dogs—but we're just as passionate about investing in our community.

Over the past several months, we've poured hundreds of volunteer hours into the Kanabec County 4-H Dog Project, helping coach, mentor, and encourage local youth. This past week, our volunteer hats multiplied as we served as barn superintendents, 4-H Auction Committee members, mentors, problem-solvers, and just about anything else that needed to be done. From early mornings to late nights, we were honored to support the incredible young people who make our community so special.

If you've been waiting on a returned phone call, email, or message, thank you for your patience. We know we've been a little quieter than usual, and we're working our way through everything now that fair week has wrapped up.

Owning a small business means wearing many hats, and one of the hats we're proudest to wear is "volunteer." Supporting youth, agriculture, and opportunities for kids to learn responsibility, leadership, and confidence is something we deeply believe in, and we're grateful to be in a position where we can give back.

Congratulations to Renee and Lucky and Jackson and Yeti on a fantastic trip and performance at the 2026 Rally National Championship.

Two members of the local dog-training community recently traveled to Wilmington, Ohio, to compete among the nation’s best after earning invitations to the 2026 American Kennel Club Rally National Championship.

Whether you're welcoming home a new puppy, starting your training journey, or ready to take your skills to the next level, we've got a class for you!

🕔 5:00 p.m. – Beginner Obedience
Build the foundation every dog needs with loose leash walking, recall, stays, impulse control, and everyday manners.

🕕 6:00 p.m. – Puppy Kindergarten
The perfect first class for young puppies! Focus on socialization, confidence building, potty training, crate training, and foundational skills to set your puppy up for success.

🕖 7:00 p.m. – Obedience II
Ready for the next step? Strengthen reliability around distractions while polishing your skills and preparing for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test.

No matter where you and your dog are in your training journey, we'd love to help you reach your next goal.

This week, we're cheering on two incredible teams as they represent our little community at the 2026 AKC Rally National Championship! 🏆🐾

🍀 Renee & Lucky and 💙 Jackson & Yeti have put in countless hours of training, teamwork, and dedication to earn their place on the national stage. Competing at this level is an incredible accomplishment, and we couldn't be prouder of everything they've achieved.

No matter what happens in the ring, you've already shown what commitment, sportsmanship, and the bond between a handler and their dog can accomplish.

Best of luck to both teams! Have fun, trust your training, and enjoy every moment of this amazing experience. We'll be cheering you on all the way from Minnesota! 💙🐕🇺🇸

Our Summer of Self-Control class is designed to help you and your dog build stronger communication, better impulse control, and reliable skills you can use in everyday life.

Over this 4-week class, we’ll work on skills like:

✨ Improving your teamwork and communication
