A reliable down is more than just a command.

Teaching a reliable down gives your dog a familiar behavior to fall back on when they're becoming excited or overstimulated. It helps build impulse control, encourages focus, and can make it easier for your dog to settle.

Here, Nyx is holding her down while distractions are happening all around her. She isn't ignoring the world she's learning that she doesn't have to react to everything she sees. That's a skill that carries over into everyday life.

Training isn't just about teaching behaviors it's about giving your dog the skills to make better choices, no matter the environment. 🖤

Another great lesson with Chili today! 👏🏻

One thing I always remind clients is that reliable behaviors aren't built by asking for more they're built by mastering the basics first.

Today, Chili worked on strengthening her down and wait for show while gradually adding more movement and distractions. By increasing the challenge a little at a time, dogs learn to stay confident and successful instead of becoming overwhelmed.

Every lesson is another step toward a calm, reliable performance, and Chili made some awesome progress today. I'm so proud of how far she's come and can't wait to see what she accomplishes next! 🥰

Today I had the pleasure of working with Chili on down and wait for show. Every dog starts somewhere, and it's so rewarding to watch them gain confidence and begin understanding what's being asked of them.

Chili did an awesome job today, and I'm excited to see her continue to improve. I can't wait to do more lessons with her and watch her confidence and skills continue to grow. Great job today, Chili and Amelia! ❤️

Dogs have been my passion for years, and after spending the last 4 years working hands on with dogs of all ages, breeds, and personalities, I've decided to take the next step and start my own training business.

My passion is helping owners better understand their dogs while creating a bond built on trust, respect, and teamwork.
