Everyone meet Dippie! šŸ©µ
This handsome little dude just arrived for his 2-week Board & Train! Dippie is a smart little guy with lots of potential. We'll be working on obedience, improving his listening skills, building consistency, and helping him and his owner get on the same page!
I'm excited to get to know this little guy, build on what he already knows, and help him become the best version of himself. šŸ«¶

Handsome boy Garmin has officially graduated, and I couldnā€™t be more proud of how far he has come! Over the past two weeks, Garmin has made some amazing progress with his leash manners, recall, impulse control, and learning how to settle and make better choices.
Heā€™s such a smart, goofy little guy, and itā€™s been so rewarding watching him grow and gain confidence. Iā€™m so proud of all the hard work heā€™s put in and canā€™t wait to see him continue to thrive with his owner!
Congratulations, Garmin! I'm going to miss having you around here buddy! šŸ«¶šŸ©µ

Rhysand is officially a Board & Train graduate! šŸŽ“

After four weeks together, itā€™s so cool to look back and see just how much this boy has grown and transitioned. From learning how to settle, build impulse control, and make better choices to practicing his skills in all kinds of real-world environments, Rhysand has come such a long way!

But now comes the fun part ā€” taking everything heā€™s learned and making it part of everyday life. His mom is excited to put his training into practice at home and continue building on all the work weā€™ve done together. šŸ„¹

Iā€™m so proud of this guy and everything heā€™s accomplished these last four weeks! Congratulations, Rhysand! šŸ–¤

Garmin had a fun field trip today!

We started out at Tractor Supply for some real-world exposure, working through all the sights, sounds, smells, people, and distractions that come with being out and about. Then we headed to the park to work on recalls in a new environment.

We also met up with Kat & Buttercup from Black Onyx Dog Training LLC, which gave Garmin the opportunity to work around another dog while still staying focused on his handler.

Field trips are such an important part of training because obedience doesnā€™t mean much if a dog can only do it at home or in a familiar environment. We want them to learn how to take those skills on the road and stay connected with their handler even when the environment changes.

Garmin got some great exposure today, worked through distractions, practiced recalls, and of course got plenty of praise and snuggles after all his hard work. šŸ„°

Adventure time with Garmin, Rhysand & Lilith!

Peep the videos in my stories of their recalls because these three were putting in some work! We also generalized their place work, worked on leash manners, practiced downs and settling in a new environment with plenty of distractions.

Getting them out of the normal training environment is such an important part of the process. They donā€™t just need to know the commands at home.. they need to be able to take those skills with them wherever we go!

And of course, after all that hard work, they got some well deserved snuggles. šŸ„°

Lots of good work from these three today! šŸ«¶

Yesterdayā€™s place duration with the crew!

Atlas, Rhea, Garmin, Rhysand and Lilith all hanging out together in the play yard while being asked to hold their place and stay neutral around each other.

Because sometimes the hardest part is doing absolutely nothing. šŸ˜†

Itā€™s not always about doing something. Sometimes the work is learning to stay calm, wait, and exist neutrally around a lot going on. That kind of impulse control carries over into so many real-life situations. šŸ˜Œ

Rhysand got out for a field trip to Bass Pro and Home Depot yesterday!

He was a little amped up when we first got there, but once we started working and holding him accountable, he settled in and was able to work through all the distractions.

Thatā€™s what weā€™re looking forā€”not a dog who never gets excited, but one who can settle back down and make good choices even when thereā€™s a lot going on. šŸ‘

The 'place' command is more than just asking a dog to stay in one spot. We want them to learn how to remain calm, focused, and reliable even when distractions are happening around them.

In this video I'm proofing 'place' with Lilith, Denali and Rhysand by throwing toys, vacuuming, and adding everyday distractions. This is where we take a behavior theyā€™ve learned and start teaching them to make good choices regardless of the different distractions going on around them!

The goal is reliability, not just obedience in a quiet room! šŸ¤—

Everyone meet Garmin! šŸ„¹

Garmin is an 11-month-old Mini Australian Shepherd who just arrived this morning for his 2-week Board & Train!

Our focus will be on building a calm state of mind and better impulse control, along with teaching him appropriate boundaries around people. Weā€™ll also be working on his recall, leash skills, and overall obedience so he can learn how to make better choices instead of letting all that Aussie energy make the decisions for him. šŸ˜†

Garmin is a smart, eager-to-learn guy, and Iā€™m excited to help him develop the structure and skills he needs to live a more balanced, fulfilled life! šŸ«¶
