Meet Prissy, a 6 month old sweet girl with the heart of an old soul.

At about 50 pounds, she’s a gentle giant who is happiest just being close to her people. Prissy can be a little shy when meeting someone new, but it doesn’t take long for her soft personality to shine through. Once she feels comfortable, she turns into a total love bug who wants nothing more than attention and affection. Belly rubs are her favorite, and she will happily roll over any chance she gets.

Prissy does great with other dogs. She is very submissive and enjoys having friends to play with. Her calm, sweet nature makes her easy to love and a wonderful companion.

She is also doing great with both crate training and house training, and she continues to learn quickly every day.

Prissy was also born with a unique back end anatomy where her v***a sits very close to her a**s. It is simply how she developed and it does not cause her pain, but she will occasionally needs a little help staying clean after going potty.

Prissy is the kind of dog who will quietly steal your heart. If you are looking for a gentle, loving companion who just wants to be by your side, Prissy may be your perfect girl.

⚾️ Volunteers Needed for Our Hickory Crawdads Fundraiser! 🧡

We still need about 20 volunteers to help make our upcoming fundraiser a success!

📍 Where: Hickory Crawdads Baseball Game (Hickory, NC)
📅 When: Thursday, April 2
⏰ Arrival Time: Between 4:30–5:00 PM (no later than 5)

We’ll be running the concession stands during the game—this is a huge fundraising opportunity for PAR, and we can’t do it without your help!

Tongue Out Tuesday is presented by Pepperoni! 🍕

Pepperoni is the cutest little pizza topping you’ll ever meet! This four-month-old terrier mix weighs about 20 pounds and is full of playful energy, a little sass, and a whole lot of love.

She’s a social, rambunctious pup who gets along great with other dogs, loves the tiny humans in her foster home, and is very curious about the cat (who isn’t quite as interested in playing!). After a day of fun, Pepperoni is always ready to curl up for snuggles.

Pepperoni is doing great with her puppy training. She’s crate trained during the day, nearly house trained (and uses puppy pads), walks well on a leash, and rides like a pro in the car—she especially loves her Jeep rides as the ultimate passenger princess.

This handsome guy with the award-winning ears is OTIS!

Otis is a charming little explorer with floppy ears, a curious nose, and a heart far bigger than his tiny paws. At six months old, he’s busy figuring out how the world works—usually by sniffing it, pawing at it, or giving it a tentative puppy nibble.

With a playful spirit and a goofy streak, Otis is the kind of pup who turns everyday moments into mini adventures. He loves meeting new friends, learning new games, and curling up for well-earned snoozes right after.

Sweet-natured and full of promise, Otis is growing into a confident, loving companion who’s ready to share his joy—and probably a few stolen socks—with everyone he meets.

Meet Ginger — an 8-year-old, 10-pound Yorkie with a gentle heart and just the right touch of s***k.

Before coming into rescue, Ginger spent most of her life in a backyard breeding situation, but you would never guess it by her loving personality. She is incredibly people-friendly, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and enjoys time outside in a fenced yard with her foster siblings.

Unfortunately, Ginger is blind, however, what she may lack in vision, she more than makes up for in affection. She’s ready to retire from her old life and step fully into her new role as a cherished lap princess and devoted little shadow.

She rides nicely in the car and is just beginning to learn about life on a leash, since that’s all new to her. With a patient and loving home, Ginger is sure to continue blossoming.

🐾 Meet Brownie – A Loyal Girl Looking for Her Second Chance 🤎

Brownie is a 4-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix weighing about 45 lbs. She came to us as an owner surrender along with her brother, Midnight. Sadly, the two found themselves homeless and living in a car. Their mom realized that was no life for them and made the very difficult and loving decision to surrender them so they could find stable homes.

Brownie does well with other dogs both big and small. We’re told she is also good with cats and small children, though we have not personally tested that yet.

Brownie can be a little shy at first and may need some time to build trust. But once she feels safe, she becomes incredibly devoted and will happily be your loyal shadow wherever you go. 💕

Brownie just needs a patient home that will give her the love and security she deserves.
