If you or anyone you know was there seek medical advice from the Health Department, your physician or an infectious disease doctor familiar with rabies prophylaxis/ prevention…. Rabies is virtually 100% fatal once symptoms start but fairly easy to prevent with proper post exposure plan.
Do not take chances with Rabies…. And do not take internet advice with rabies… seek professional medical advice…. For you and your kids…. We harp on this daily at our practice ( Race City Animal Hospital of Lake Norman / Mooresville NC .

Burke County Public Health is sharing information about a mobile petting zoo that was at a private event on Miller Mills Road on August 9. Several goats associated with the petting zoo have tested positive for rabies.

If you attended the event and had direct contact with the animals, please call (828) 764-1165 with any questions or concerns.

When you get just past Public Storage on the right, turn left. In the back corner of the parking lot where the dumpster building is, follow the gravel drive around to the front or rear parking.
