Today we’re celebrating someone who is so much more than just a member of the Silver Leaf team. Emily has been part of the Silver Leaf family for an incredible 10 years! ❤️
We are so thankful for all of the hard work, dedication, and compassion she brings to our patients every single day. But what really makes Emily special is that her love for animals doesn’t stop when she clocks out. 🐶🐱❤️
Emily has volunteered with WildCare many times and has even opened her own home to cats who have been diagnosed with diseases and need a little extra love and care. 🥹
We all come to work because we want to help animals, but with Emily, you can truly see that caring for animals isn't just her job—it’s something that is a genuine part of who she is. She has a true passion for caregiving, and our patients are lucky to have her. 🐾
We are incredibly grateful to have had Emily with us for the past 10 years, and we hope she knows just how much she is appreciated!

Okay, maybe she wasn't actually driving… but she was caught hanging out in a City of Moore Animal Welfare vehicle! 🐾
Did you know that Silver Leaf Animal Hospital partners with Moore Animal Welfare to provide veterinary care for the pets in their care? ❤️
We’ve been fortunate to work with them for years, and we absolutely love being able to help these animals get the medical care they need while they wait for their forever families.
This little girl had just been spayed and was waiting for her ride back to the shelter when we caught her looking very suspicious behind the wheel. 😂
Now all she needs is someone to give her a forever home! 🏡❤️
🐾 Maybe stop by Moore Animal Welfare & Adoption Center and meet her soon. She might just be the perfect addition to your family!

This handsome guy may be BIG, but don’t let his size fool you… he is a GIANT SOFTY! 🥰❤️
He just needed a little quality time with Dr. Floyd and decided that the best place for a few hugs was right in his lap! 😂🐶
And before anyone asks… yes, the dog is the giant softy. NOT Dr. Floyd. 🤣
Although we’re pretty sure Dr. Floyd didn’t mind the cuddles one bit! 🐾❤️

Spyro was the perfect patient for her blood draw recently! 🩸💛 She was so good that she even showed up wearing her very own dragon wings for moral support. 😂
Honestly, if you’re going to have blood drawn, you might as well look like a dragon while doing it! 🐉✨
Spyro was brave, beautiful, and absolutely ready to take flight after her appointment! 🥰🪽

🚨🐱 BOBCAT FEVER HAS BEEN CONFIRMED LOCALLY — AND AWARENESS COULD SAVE YOUR CAT’S LIFE. 🐱🚨

You may have seen the recent news about Moore Animal Welfare and a cat diagnosed with bobcat fever. We want to share an important part of this story with our community.

Dr. Palacio, here at Silver Leaf Animal Hospital, was the veterinarian who diagnosed the shelter cat with bobcat fever. Our team has also diagnosed multiple cases of this devastating disease over the past year, all of which have been fatal, and we want local cat owners to understand the risks.

Bobcat fever, also known as cytauxzoonosis, is a serious tick-borne disease that can be fatal in cats. Despite its name, cats do not have to come into direct contact with a bobcat to become infected. Ticks can transmit the parasite to our domestic cats, and symptoms can progress rapidly. Treatment is costly and often harder on the pet.

⚠️ SIGNS TO WATCH FOR:
🐾 Extreme lethargy or weakness
🐾 Loss of appetite
🐾 Fever
🐾 Yellowing of the eyes, gums, or skin
🐾 Rapid or difficult breathing

🛡️ HOW CAN YOU HELP PROTECT YOUR CAT?
❤️ Tick prevention specifically for cats.
❤️ Check your cat regularly for ticks.
❤️ Keep your cat indoors when possible.

We are proud of Dr. Palacio and our team for recognizing and diagnosing this serious disease. We also appreciate the work being done by Moore Animal Welfare & Adoption Center to care for animals in our community.

We are sharing this information because awareness, early recognition, and prevention matter. Bobcat fever can progress quickly, so please don’t wait if your cat is showing concerning symptoms.

A metro animal shelter is warning cat owners about a potentially deadly disease.
