I don’t usually do this. But I would like to take a moment and praise a client of mine. Although I am always grateful to all of my clients for your business. Every once in a while something happens that you just have to shed light on. From my time being a farrier I have seen it all. Good horses, bad horses. Broncy snorty pukes that would kill you as soon as look at you. I work on plenty of sweet wonderful horses. Most of the animals I work on I really do form a very special bond with. I have been there when the vet has had to give the most heart breaking news, and felt like I failed the horse and the human.
But today something amazing happened. Most clients that have a tough to stand horse, that’s either skiddish or has bad manners, the first thing I ask the owners is “ how much do you work with this horse”? The usual answer is, “ oh I just don’t have the time” and this that and the other. Well I have a particular client who’s wife has cancer, this is so heart wrenching as I am very fond of both of these wonderful people. The husband a since retired marine, is trying his absolute best to hold so much together, while his wonderful beautiful wife is fighting for her life. Well they rescued a pretty scared horse that’s blind in one eye and he whole nine. For months neither myself or the husband could work with this horse, I got his front feet done once but it was such a struggle and very scary as the horse was about to blow up at any moment. As I tell all of my clients, try to work with them, the more time you spend with your horse and the more trust that is formed amazing things can happen. Well lady’s and gentlemen that’s exactly what happened this horse in just a couple weeks time has gone from almost not being able to catch, to today showing up and being greeted by and very confident client and horse!
With all this gentleman’s going through I just think it is wonderful to see the progress on both the horse and human. Today both party’s won!
I don’t need to tag the folks involved, they know who they are. Great job!!
