Rustic Camp Sites are available. Pitch your tent on our 6 acre pond surrounded by nature. Cook over a fire pit, enjoy peace and quiet and watch the deer graze. Supervised horseback riding available in the indoor or outdoor arena. Pets welcome on a leash. The camp sites are quiet and out of view from the general day to day activities of the farm. The farm also a petting farm, with chickens, horses, miniature horses, miniature donkeys, dwarf and pigmy goats and their kids, Jacob sheep and their lambs, alpacas and Flemish Giant rabbits, all are friendly. Trails are posted with explanations of bat houses, bird houses, bee hives, fish in the pond and areas set up to feed the wildlife.
There are two camp sites that are close to the barn that are not so rustic. (running water and toilet facilities) Camping may be reserved through hipcamp.com

PETTING FARM AND PONY BIRTHDAY PARTIES.

We look forward to providing your guests with the best petting farm party.
Each party on the farm lasts from 2 to 2 ½ Hours.
Attendants will be available to provide your guests with a petting farm tour and miniature horse cart rides and pony rides.
Tables and Chairs Provided.
Gas Grill available for additional cost.
Birthday party area will be available an hour prior to party for you to set up your food and decorations.
Norfolk Heritage is Handicap Accessible, additional help is available for children with disabilities.

Barn Buddy Night
3.30 – 5.30. pm Thursdays.
Starting May 2nd. Come every Thursday or once every so often.
Ages 7 to 14.
Help feed all our animals and play with this year’s babies.
Help milk a goat, groom our miniature horses. Learn how to drive our miniature horses or ride a horse. Walk an alpaca, or even learn how to jump a miniature horse.
We have lambs and kids already born, and our maternity ward is ready for our Cria (Baby Alpacas) Miniature Horse foals, and Miniature Highland Cow Calves.

SUMMER CAMP - HORSE AND PETTING FARM CAMP.

Norfolk Heritage is the perfect place for your child (between 7 and 16 years old) to learn and develop some skills working around animals. All campers will have the opportunity to participate in both the Horsemanship and Animal experiences each day during their week or weekend of camp.

Horsemanship
NH Petting Farm boasts a variety of equines including adorable miniature horses, ponies and Quarter Horses and miniature donkeys. During the week, campers will learn the different types of riding, and will be provided the opportunity to gain hands on experience in grooming, tacking, riding and generally caring for all the horses.
The riding program features a selection of friendly and experienced horses that are perfect for all campers. Campers will be expected to wear long pants, and boots or shoes with a small heel, and a helmet which can be provided to them during the horseback riding.
Activities Include:
Horseback riding daily, miniature horse driving, miniature horse jumping, in hand trail with a horse and showmanship.

Animal Adventure
A complete “hands on” and behind the scenes experience. Everyone will get a chance to pitch in and help feed all the animals living on the farm. There is so much to learn about all these animals. Our staff love sharing their knowledge. Children will be thrilled to help care for the sheep, goats, donkey, alpacas, chickens, horses, miniature horses, rabbits, etc.

Activities Include:
Basic husbandry skills, Animal training and handling, Alpaca Treks and other activities.

The goal of NHF Petting Farm is to give your child a fun, safe, educational, non-competitive, up close experience with our animals, other campers and staff. The program aims to enhance self-esteem, encourage responsibility and promote clear communication while making friends - human and animal.

NHF Farm strives to maintain a small ratio of campers to staff, ensuring the safety of the children and animals. Our staff all have Police Criminal and Child abuse Clearances.

Be prepared
Appropriate clothing for all types of weather types, possibly bring a change of clothing. Please pack your child lunch and beverages for the day.
