We have so many kitty customers in Alaska that we know have been affected by the recent typhoon….sending you all much love and support. Here is one way to help 💜🐾
🚨 **UPDATE from AVCP: Western Alaska Disaster Relief – Donation Guidance**
Quyana to everyone who has donated so far. Your generosity has been incredible and deeply felt across our communities.
AVCP is leading the coordination of **receiving and managing donated items** in Bethel. We are working closely with local partners to ensure donations are distributed effectively and respectfully to impacted communities. A dedicated **contact phone number** (thank you GCI!) and **email address** will be shared soon for donation-related inquiries.
🛑 **Please PAUSE donations of USED clothing at this time.** 🛑
Thanks to the overwhelming support from Bethel, YK Delta communities, and towns across Alaska, our donation centers are full. Evacuees are currently selecting items, and volunteers are working hard to sort and package supplies for delivery to communities as they become ready to receive them.
⏱️ It will take some time now for people to sort and package items to send to impacted communities as they are ready to receive them. Everyone wants to be sure that communities only get what they request so as not to overwhelm their limited human resources and storage. In the meantime, if you see specific asks from friends or family or other impacted individuals on social media or elsewhere, you all know what to do to help with that direct aid.
✅ **What’s needed now?**
AVCP is accepting **NEW items only**, which can be sent via **Lynden**.
📦 Please box and clearly label the top of each box with its contents.
**Requested NEW Items include:**
Water, nonperishable foods, diapers, wipes, toilet paper, personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, phone chargers, blankets, sleeping bags, cots, flashlights, hand wipes, totes, packing boxes, tape, sharpie markers, sticky labels, rubber gloves, paper towels, large trash bags, duffle bags, backpacks, pillows, batteries, and air mattresses with pumps.
