Looking for a meaningful way to give back right here in Monticello? Join our volunteer team and help make Therapeion Therapeutic Riding Program lessons possible.

Our volunteers support riders, assist with horses, and work alongside instructors. We’re looking for more helping hands to keep our lessons running and our riders supported.

No horse experience is needed—we provide training! Bring a willingness to learn and a desire to help others.

Interested but have a few questions? Send us a message or email us to learn about volunteer roles, lesson times, and getting started. We’d love to hear from you!

You don’t have to be in the saddle to help someone move forward. 🐴

At Courage Rock, volunteers help make every Therapeion lesson possible—and we’re looking for more people to join our team.

Whether you’re supporting a rider or working alongside our horses and instructors, you’re helping our Therapeion Therapeutic Riding Program continue serving people right here in Monticello.

It’s a chance to build connections, encourage our riders, and see their progress from one lesson to the next.

Never worked with horses? That’s okay. We provide training to help you learn your role. A willingness to learn and a desire to help are a great place to start.

Been thinking about volunteering? Let’s start with a conversation. Ask about the roles, lesson times, and what getting started looks like—there’s no pressure to commit just because you ask.

While I have quite a few pictures from this year’s Horsetoberfest to get through, I wanted to take a moment to post this one.

The Rock is surrounded by farmland, some of which the Hunts own. This includes the seven acres the horses use as pastureland. Long before the arena, or even the number of horses we have now, Mr. Hunt believed in the mission that Kim and Scott had set out to create. Conversations were had, and eventually he began leasing to us the seven acres that The Rock sits on.

Mr. Hunt has since passed away, but shortly before his passing, he made the decision to sell the pastureland to The Rock. This was not only a big deal because The Rock could acquire the land that we used, but also because the Hunts had not sold any land in decades upon decades ago.

The Hunts continue to believe in the mission of The Rock, and this Horsetoberfest, Mrs. Hunt was able to make an appearance. Kim and Scott gifted her a plaque as a way to show our gratitude for their support and for believing in The Rock. We wouldn’t be anywhere near where we are without any of you, and we wouldn’t have nearly enough land for the horses without the Hunts. We will be forever grateful for them, as well as all of our supporters.

We thank all of you, and there are more pictures to come from this past Saturday. It was yet another successful year, so thank you to all who were able to come out.
