All funds raised go to support the animals, providing shelter, food, medical care and love. All our volunteers are committed to helping the animals in our community by providing service to the public through education, various fund raising events, animal awareness

Located at 315 North Jefferson Street in Monticello. Please donate gently used items during operating hours, All proceeds benefit the animals at the shelter. Monetary donations can be sent to the shelter at:

Items needed at the shelter:
*Collars and Leashes
*Dog and Cat Treats
•Baby receiving blankets
•Cleaning supplies, paper towels, dawn liquid detergent.
* KMR (kitten milk replacer)
•Animal crates (all sizes)
*Animal Transport carriers (for cats & Small dogs)
•Animal toys ( Cat & Dog)
•Heavy duty garden hoses


Volunteers are always welcome at the shelter and Wag the Dog thrift store. You can help by walking dogs, petting cats, cleaning, and general maintenance at the shelter. At the thrift shop, volunteers help organize, clean and sort donated goods. Every animal benefits when you volunteer your time. Current Board Members:

Still available for adoption. We need your help this dog was brought into the vet's to be euthanized by someone who had found them appox 10 days before.
He didn't get along with her cats.
He is an amazing boy after everything he has been through, he is just got the biggest heart. We love him! But we know the right thing to do is get him his very own home. He knows basic commands. He wants to please you. Putting on weight quickly, heartworm positive and already being treated. Friendly with other dogs. Please spread the word. Share! Share! Share! Foxy is here and available for adoption. Told she was a Goldendoodle . Foxy was surrendered because her first owner was going into ROTC. She was adopted several months ago and was going to be a service dog but life changed and she's back at the shelter. Third time must be a charm! Foxy wants someone back in her life. She is a very social girl that loves other dogs. She is about 30lbs and a year old now. Loves going on walks, knows some great tricks, and is not housetrained just yet. She will be the perfect dog for someone who has the time to finish her training. She is beautiful, smart and loving! You will get all the loving from this one. Please stop by and meet her.

Share! Share! Available for adoption! We still have puppers waiting for their forever homes. Bruce is a very sweet American bulldog mix , is about 60lbs, that loves other dogs and being loved on. Rolo is 5 and 17lbs. He is our smaller guy that is wanting to play and give kisses. Roscoe is appox 1 yr, 35 lbs and is a sweetheart that gives the best hugs and does well with other dogs.

Share! Share! Available for adoption! We have some amazing sweet peas in that have been with Epic Pups. They have been learning so many new tricks and have been getting all the best positive attention they need. Pokerface is 6y 6m old at about 37lbs, Honey is 1y old 30lbs, and Levi is 1y 8m old now at 60lbs. They are all very sweet and, with Epic Pups, have become great on taking walks and meeting new friends. Please stop by and meet these angels.

Share! Share! Share! Meet Bruce. This handsome boy was recently saved from being euthanized at a local vets office. Luckily one of the employees stepped up and got him to us before that could happen. Bruce is the sweetest boy and good with other dogs. He is full of personality and very talkative. He is heartworm positive but has already started treatment. Interested in meeting him?
