Results don’t happen overnight, and Enzo is proof that the work is worth it. 🩵

Enzo came to us as a highly reactive behavioral case and completed a 6 week Board and Train with 5 weekly visits with his parents and 4 real world outings. This boy WORKED, and he absolutely blew us away.
Were there some bumps after going home? Of course! That’s real life. But with continued support, clear boundaries, and owners who stayed consistent, Enzo has continued making huge strides. Now he’s enjoying parks, neighborhood walks, and busy environments with SO much more confidence.

Happy dog. Happy owners. Proud trainers. That’s what it’s all about. 🏆

🌧️🦆 Rainy days don’t stop progress! 🦆🌧️

Today is Draco’s very first Day Train, and he showed up ready to learn in the cutest rubber ducky raincoat! 💛

Draco is beginning his journey toward becoming a service dog, so over the next several weeks we’ll be focusing on building a strong foundation. We’ll be fine tuning his obedience, strengthening his engagement, improving his focus around distractions, and helping him develop the confidence and reliability every future service dog needs.

Rain or shine, the work doesn’t stop. Some of the best training happens when we learn to work through different environments and conditions.

We can’t wait to share Draco’s progress with all of you. Welcome to the Koba’s Four Paws Institute family, Draco! 🐾💙

Welcoming back Maeve!
This will be Maeve’s second week with us.

Some back story.. Maeve trained privately with a former trainer at Koba’s, now don’t get us wrong Maeve did great but the owners admittedly let her training fall to the side and they tried to go with another trainer that practiced positive training only. Unfortunately this wasn’t a good approach for Maeve as she needs some heavier corrections for her behavioral problems. Maeve had an at home incident and is now considered a Live Bite training case!
Last week we hunkered down gaining her confidence, starting muzzle conditioning, and reinforcing her “NO” command when trying to bite the trainer.
We can only imagine this is how this sweet girl feels… it’s gotta be the parasites 😂🦠

Today we celebrate the dog who started it all. 🤍

Koba would have been 12 years old today.

Three months ago, I had to say goodbye to my best friend, my soul dog, and the reason Koba’s Four Paws Institute exists in the first place. Koba challenged me, taught me, humbled me, and ultimately inspired me to dedicate my life to helping other people build better relationships with their dogs.

Everything this business stands for communication, patience, consistency, compassion, and understanding started with him.

Some days are still really hard without him. But I’m endlessly grateful for the 12 years I got to spend loving such an incredible dog.

And somehow, one of my favorite memories became our last little cheers together with mini Oreos before I let him go. 🥂🍪

It wasn’t a perfect moment. It was a real one. Full of love, comfort, and the people who cared about him most.

Happy Birthday to the dog who changed my life forever. Thank you for being my reason why, Koba.

Both of these girls came to us with dog reactivity, and today they were able to calmly coexist across the room with no barking, lunging, or big feelings taking over.

Mercy putting in the work and then cashing in on a well earned nap 💤

Place is not just about having your dog stay on a bed, it is about teaching them how to turn off. After a structured training session their brain has been working hard making good choices, and that mental effort is just as tiring as physical exercise.

That is why you will often see this. A dog who understands how to settle will naturally relax and fall asleep.

Place builds impulse control, calmness in busy environments, and a reliable off switch at home.

A well trained dog is not just obedient, they know how to rest. And that is where real balance happens 🐾

Meet Sweetie — a spunky Chihuahua/Terrier mix who’s absolutely thriving in our Day Train program!

Small dogs can definitely have a stubborn streak, but they are just as capable of learning with the right structure, consistency, and guidance. Sweetie has been catching on so quickly and is doing incredible with everything we’ve introduced so far.
