I never planned on making tack, but somehow mule tape halters became one of the things that stuck.

I started making them years ago, and they’ve been part of Good Earth Equine in one form or another ever since. The colors have changed, the styles have changed, and I’ve definitely gotten better at making them, but the idea behind them really hasn’t.

I want tack that can actually be used.

These halters are made to go to the barn, get thrown in the trailer, hang on the fence, get dirty, get washed, and go right back to work. They’re made by hand, one at a time, and I still genuinely enjoy seeing which color combinations end up being everyone’s favorites.

GEE mule tape halters are primarily offered ready-made and in stock. Custom orders are available for quantities of 5 or more for barns, trainers, awards, events, or anyone needing a larger matching order.

As Good Earth Equine grows, there are going to be a lot of new things around here.

But the mule tape halters aren’t going anywhere. 🤍

A fresh batch will be available when the new shop opens October 31.

I don't think anybody had binders on their list of things Good Earth Equine would eventually make, but here we are.

I've spent a lot of years around barrel horses, and if there's one thing I've learned, it's that there's a whole lot more to a good run than the few seconds you spend in the arena.

There's training, planning, keeping track of progress, figuring out what works, and sometimes figuring out what definitely doesn't.

That's where the Barrel Horse Logs come in.

They're designed to give barrel racers one place to keep track of their horses, training, goals, and competition seasons. Something useful that can actually go to the barn, travel to jackpots, and get used throughout the year.

This weekend, 16 Barrel Horse Logs will be handed out as awards at ICRP's Retro Active + Full End Invitational in Festus, Missouri!

Each one assembled by hand and ready to go home with its new owner.

And they're not just for this weekend! Barrel Horse Logs will also be available for purchase on the Good Earth Equine website.

GEE might be growing into something a little different than what I originally had in mind, but the goal hasn't changed.

It's still supposed to be about the horse. 🤍

Good Earth Equine was never supposed to be a tack store.

It started with horses. Buying them, working with them, selling them, and figuring things out as I went.

The halters and reins came later because I needed them, liked making them, and people started wanting them too. Over the years, GEE has changed right along with my life, but the horse has always been the center of it.

Now Good Earth Equine is growing again.

You’re going to start seeing more than handmade tack around here. New products, new categories, plenty of testing, and a lot of trial and error behind the scenes before I decide something deserves a place in the shop.

Some things will be made by me. Some things won’t. Either way, Good Earth Equine will continue to only carry products that I would actually use on my own horses.

Because this was never supposed to be about having the fanciest stuff.

It was supposed to be about the horse.

And I think GEE is finally getting back to that.
