BIG NEWS AT PAWS ON THE PASTURE! 🚨

Please help us give a HUGE congratulations to Rachel on her promotion to Kennel Manager! 🎉

Rachel has a heart for animals that goes far beyond the pasture. Originally from Philadelphia, she’s called several places home including Oregon, South Dakota, Arizona, and California. If you ask her, the Redwoods was her favorite - much cooler summers than we have here. ☀️

Along the way, she’s worked at state parks, stables, and animal shelters, building on her passion for rescue and making a difference in the lives of animals who need a second chance. 🫶

Rachel recently made the move to Waxhaw, her husband Michael’s hometown. We’re so happy she’s putting down roots in our community and continuing to grow with our Paws family! 🐾

When she’s not caring for our pack, she’s busy loving on her own crew of FOUR rescue dogs: Truck, Dakota, Ellie, and Steven! 🐕🐕🐕🐕 Clearly, caring for dogs isn’t just her job — it’s who she is! Outside of her love for animals, she enjoys reading, sewing, camping, and anything to do with nature.🏞️

We are so excited to see Rachel step into this next chapter and so lucky to have her on our team! ❤️

Sherman had the honor of sharing his love at the Chameleons Journey Grief Camp, serving as a therapy dog and offering comfort to the youth navigating the difficultly of losing a loved one.

We are so grateful for this very rewarding opportunity, and want to thank those who made this possible. ❤️

🐾 Forgotten, Now Family Rescue — Without this incredible rescue, Sherman wouldn’t be a part of our family. We are forever grateful that they gave him the chance to find his way to us. He has brought so much love into our lives, and now he’s sharing that love with our community. 🫶

💚 Invisible Paw Prints — Thank you for the incredible work you do through therapy dogs and for helping dogs like Sherman find their purpose in serving others. The impact you make in our community is truly special, and we’re so proud to be part of this organization. 🫶

We had a full house for boarding this weekend! There’s nothing we love more than having our pasture filled with familiar faces, wagging tails, and happy pups enjoying their home away from home. Thank you for trusting us with your four-legged family members! 🫶

Another week of wagging tails, happy pups, pasture adventures, and SO much! 🐶

Our boarding crew is officially filling the pasture! We’re so grateful for all of our Paws families who trust us with their pups while they’re away. 🫶

If you’re thinking about booking an upcoming weekend, don’t wait! October is filling up quickly, and we want to make sure your pup has a spot for their next pasture getaway! 🌾

🎓GOOD DOG CLUB IS BACK!
Our next Good Dog Club meeting is Saturday, October 17th from 10:00–11:30 AM!

Whether your pup is a training graduate, currently working through our program, or interested in learning about training, everyone is welcome! This is a great opportunity to build confidence, socialize, and connect with other Paws families. 💚

🎃 OCTOBER DOG OF THE MONTH: TOBI! 🎃

If there’s one thing Tobi loves almost as much as his friends at Paws on the Pasture… it’s THE POOL! 💦🐶

This sweet Golden Retriever is a daycare regular, and he knows exactly where to find the best time on the Pasture — especially when water is involved! Whether he’s splashing around in the pool, or playing with his favorite friends, Tobi is ALWAYS ready for fun. 🥰

And one of our favorite things about Tobi? The second he gets into his playgroup, he gives his whole body the happiest little shake like he just can’t contain his excitement! 😂

Tobi is sweet, playful, full of personality, and truly one of those pups who makes the Pasture a happier place just by being here. 💛

🐾 HELP US FIND A FOREVER HOME FOR GINGER & PANDA 🐾

Ginger and Panda came to stay with us while their mom was away on a cruise. Tragically, she passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack while traveling. Her family loves these two dearly, but unfortunately, they have pets of their own and are unable keep Ginger and Panda.

We want to help this bonded pair find a new family — together. ❤️

🐶 Ginger — 7 years old
🐶 Panda — turning 2 in November
💉 Both are up to date on all vaccines
💕 Both are incredibly sweet and loving
🐾 They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together

🎰🐾 Lucky Tails Casino Night! 🐾🎰

Last night some of the POTP crew attended the Humane Society of Union County’s Annual Lucky Tails Casino Night! ✨

We were so happy to celebrate alongside our amazing guests, friends, and teammates who came out to support such an important organization in our community. 🫶

The Humane Society Union County NC is a foster-based, volunteer-driven rescue dedicated to helping dogs and cats in need — rescuing, providing medical care, finding loving forever homes, and helping prevent pet overpopulation through programs like their low-cost spay/neuter and wellness clinic.

Their mission is one that aligns with our core values. We’re proud to support HSUC through fundraising and community events, fostering, and helping shine a light on the incredible work being done for animals right here in Union County.

Our commitment to HSUC goes beyond supporting their events. Our owner, Melissa Keeley, is proud to serve on the Humane Society of Union County’s Board of Directors, helping support their mission and the work they do for animals and families throughout our community.

We’ve seen firsthand how much a second chance can change a dog’s life — and we believe strongly in being part of the village that makes those second chances possible. ❤️
