Apparently Mother Nature finally looked down at HOWA, saw a house full of dogs vibrating with several days’ worth of pent-up energy, and said, “Fine. Here’s some damn cloud cover before somebody eats the drywall.”
A storm rolled in with some wind and clouds and dropped the temperature enough to give us a glorious few hours outside. So we opened the gates and released the inmates to run, wrestle, chase balls, burn off some house-arrest energy, and generally act like they had just been sprung from maximum-security air conditioning.
Everybody enjoyed themselves, but foster Lazslo and Dayzee once again decided this was THEIR production. At this point, I feel like I’m watching an entire season of Step Brothers every time these two get together. There’s wrestling. There’s yelling. There’s inappropriate body contact. Somebody is getting tackled for absolutely no reason. Personal space has been declared unconstitutional. And every five minutes you can practically hear, “Did we just become best friends?!” followed immediately by another full-body WWE takedown.
Meanwhile, the rest of the dogs are trying to play fetch and enjoy their brief taste of freedom while these two orange-and-speckled lunatics are filming Step Brothers: The Backyard Years directly in the middle of everything.
We may not have gotten much peace out of this cooler weather, but we definitely burned off some energy. And right now, that counts as a damn miracle.
