This horse sustained a fracture through the coffin bone (P3). A foot cast was placed to stabilize the two pieces of bone which provided significant improvement in comfort level and is allowing the fracture to heal.

Smokey days are upon us! Horses, like humans, are impacted by poor air quality. As air quality worsens we recommend using caution exercising horses especially those with underlying respiratory conditions. When the AQI exceeds 150, exercise should be limited to the walk, even in healthy horses. As air quality improves, high intensity exercise should be avoided for 1 day per day the AQI was greater than 150.
