UPDATE: These kittens have a rescue commitment if we can raise funds to help with costs. Our goal is $550 for 5 kittens to cover secondary testing and spay neuter surgeries. Who can donate $25 tomorrow?

These kittens will be euthanized at the Shelter Monday without rescue support because they tested positive for FIV. 💔

Kittens especially deserve every opportunity because some can test positive due to maternal antibodies and require retesting as they get older. Regardless many FIV+ cats live long, happy, healthy lives.

Lucille is a 7-year-old heartworm negative intact female Pit Bull weighing 47 pounds who is looking for a rescue partner to help her get the care she needs.
This sweet girl has been friendly and affectionate with people and enjoys spending time with staff. Lucille has also done well with other dogs, making her a great candidate for a rescue placement or foster home with canine companions.

Lucille's biggest challenge is a chronic ear infection that will require veterinary evaluation and treatment. While she remains bright, loving, and eager for attention, her ongoing medical needs make rescue placement the best option for her future.

Lucille has so much love left to give and deserves the opportunity to receive the medical care she needs in a comfortable environment. If your rescue can help Lucille, please reach out as soon as possible. Lucille has received her DHLPP, BORDETELLA and RABIES vaccinations and must have a commitment by 6-8-26. Meet Winky, a sweet 2-year-old 7lb adult female intact Domestic Shorthair cat looking for a rescue partner. Winky was surrendered to the shelter along with her kittens. The good news is that her kittens are healthy and eligible for adoption, but Winky herself needs additional veterinary care before she can move forward.

Winky has an old eye injury that has left her with only one eye. While she is adjusting well and remains a loving cat, she needs a veterinary evaluation to determine if any further treatment is needed for her previous injury.

Despite her condition, Winky has been a gentle and resilient girl. She deserves the chance to leave the shelter and receive the medical attention she needs in a rescue environment where she can continue to thrive.

If your rescue can help Winky, please contact us. She is ready for a fresh start and a brighter future.

URGENT: Rescue Needed for 5 Kittens ASAP

🐾 Litter of 5 kittens, approx. 2–3 weeks old
🐾 No teeth yet, otherwise appear healthy
🐾 1 kitten is missing a rear leg which Vet says not infected. Kitten is expected to adapt and thrive.

🆘 Immediate need: Rescue pickup ASAP. Temporary care may be available for tonight only. Contact a rescue if you can foster.

UPDATE: Report sightings to Tucker K-9 Search & Rescue: 704-400-0110
Location: 601-S near Landsford Rd (05-23-26)

“It’s the cruelest thing I’ve seen in a long time.” When a state patrol officer says those words, you don’t forget it. 💔

He had spotted a German Shepherd with its rear legs hobbled (intentionally tied up) along the side of 601 in a remote area of Union County. They don’t have rescue equipment and there was little he could do after it limped into the woods.

The officer provided us a detailed location, and we went searching. At first, we thought the dog was gone (since it was hours later) and were preparing to leave when suddenly, it emerged from the woods and began limping along the busy highway. It must have chewed off the binding on its rear legs.

One quick phone call brought Tucker K-9 Search & Rescue and drone volunteers immediately into action to help. 🙌🏼 They are currently searcing.

Now we need 🫵🏻 your help. We need:
• Medical pledges for vet care (rear legs likely hurt)
• Open foster willing for stray hold and beyond
• GSD breed rescue support
• Shares to get more eyes on this effort
