We are currently CLOSED Tuesdays and Wednesdays until June, then we’ll move to 7 days a week.

Many animals are already here, and more are arriving as we finish outdoor habitats and continue transforming the facility.

Come out now and watch the changes happen… or wait until everything is complete and see the finished vision come to life.

New signs and finishing touches will be going up soon as we complete the front of the building remodel.

And remember — we are NOT a petting zoo.

Busy busy day at the Monroe Wildlife Center and the animals are settling in nicely!

The capybaras are getting comfortable, the Patagonian cavy are exploring every corner, the palm civets are checking everything out, and the baby fennec fox… let’s just say this little fluff ball is completely obsessed with snuggles. 🦊❤️

Every day more personalities come out, more progress gets finished, and more memories are waiting to happen.

The capybara’s are currently in a temporary area for the next week or so while we finish building their brand-new indoor/outdoor habitat.

Capybara encounters officially start May 22, and during this acclimation period we’ll be doing very short, limited visits while they settle in and get comfortable with their new surroundings.

They’re already taking treats from visitors and getting excited to meet people.
