Sadly Madeleine and Otho’s litter did not pan out. While she was displaying signs of pregnancy, she did not deliver any pups come her due date (or even the day after). These kinds of things can happen when breeding, and thankfully Madeleine has seemed okay which is the most important thing.

I am going to try her again with Otho once she’s ready, but if it doesn’t work out next time then I’ll be returning to my plan to breed her to Tyke. I’m really hoping it works out with Otho though, so please send some good vibes for the coming weeks! 🤞🏻

Can you guess which platform leg is the Niteangel one and which one isn’t? Crystal perfected these replacement legs for me for all of my Niteangel platforms and I can’t even express how excited I am. These replacements are perfect if you have a chewer, your hamster’s p*e soaks into the platform legs, etc. and you could even get the legs cut to your desired height!

My boyfriend told me that I was talking in my sleep about hamsters and “the districts” 😅 safe to say I’m excited and completely on theme??? Madeleine is due today, and I will be keeping an eye on her but trying not to hover.

I’ve had a few questions about this so I’m going to clarify in one post -

Madeleine was not bred to Tyke. I bred her to Otho after taking his health and longevity into consideration. Their litter will be The Hunger Games litter. I was planning on having a THG litter at some point, but I’ve been heavy in the fandom again this past week and have been seeing content and hearing audios from completely unrelated videos so I think it fits. Plus I literally just in this moment remembered Peeta’s dad’s name is Otho lol

Wolf Alice and Tyke are going to be bred likely in late January or February so that the weather is hopefully a bit nicer by the time they can go home. Their litter will be the SpongeBob litter, which is something I wanted to reserve specifically for the litter Tyke fathers. Fitting since I set him up with a beach themed enclosure.

If anyone has any other questions about this, please let me know!

Tyke! He’s such a sweet boy 💜 he is going to be introducing short hair and dominant spot into my lines for the first time. I’m planning on breeding him with Wolf Alice in the coming months, likely in late January or February so that the weather will hopefully be a bit nicer by the time the pups are able to go home.

Madeleine is still showing signs of pregnancy, so fingers crossed everything goes well Friday🤞🏻 I have gotten a lot of questions about my waitlist, and the only thing I can say for sure right now is to take the quiz and we can go from there. Various factors such as litter size and how many people end up passing for the next litter all influence whether there will still be pups in need of homes from this upcoming litter. I will be sitting down this weekend to get the waitlist section added to my website and to start reaching out to those who are already on my waitlist to get a renewed feel for when everyone is looking to get a hamster 😊

Alice has really been enjoying tearing up her enclosure. She’s got PILES of bedding she unpacked during her burrowing escapades.

But I have a more important message than that today - The Squeaks is a local small animal rescue and they need help. These past few months have been very costly with medical expenses and a massive intake of rabbits from a hoarding/neglect case. I have worked with these lovely people in the past and have even adopted several of my pets from them over the years. They do so much for our small animal community and I would love it if we can show them how much that matters to us by supporting them.

Goodbye Charlie 💔🕊️ fly high, sweet girl.

This one hurts a lot. Charlie went downhill very fast and as much as I would have loved to keep fighting for her and giving her meds, all the fight had left her. I’ll keep them going if they seem like they can, but when they let me know they’re done I have to respect that 😓

It’s looking like my surprise IS happening! I’m seeing positive signs of pregnancy with Madeleine here 🥳 today is day 8, so if all continues to go well I should have pups on October 9th. Definitely get those applications in if you’re looking to adopt within the next 2 months!

I decided to breed Madeleine to Otho because of Otho’s proven health and longevity. If you’ve been following along for the past couple months, you know that I have not had the greatest luck lately with some heart conditions popping up in some of my hamsters. Otho was recently examined and had imaging done at the vet - I’m very happy to report his heart is still perfectly healthy. That as well as the fact that he’s 2, still energetic, still maintaining perfect body condition, etc. made me feel like the best course of action for the improvement of health in my lines was to take a shot with him and pray he was still fertile.

Breeding plans could change, but my tentative plans moving forward are to hold back a female pup from this litter, breed Tyke and Wolf Alice then hold back a female pup from their litter, and then breed Asta and Jack to those females sometime next year. Asta and Jack will be undergoing an examination and imaging between 16-18 months old prior to breeding to help ensure health as well 💜

Blurry as heck but I don’t care - like father, like son 💜

Replies to all correspondence will be going out tonight or tomorrow night. I’m always busy but this week is a bit busier with errands to run every night as well as prepping for my VA trip and new residents. As always, I appreciate everyone’s patience 🥰 you guys are seriously the best!
