Learning more about hoof care and tapping into the wealth of knowledge out there is absolutely encouraged.
BUT... it's also a great way to spread misinformation.

Make sure you're getting the information from the experienced and educated.

As a minimum, registered farriers in the UK must pass a rigorous exam after a 4-year apprenticeship to legally shoe horses - and the learning doesn't stop there.

🧲Use their knowledge and experience
🗣Take their advice
🐴They know your horse and are often in a good position to help.
