- Foster or Adopt Blondie -

Blondie is a goofy, affectionate 3 year old Border Collie with the biggest toothy grin. She wakes up smiling every morning and somehow manages to make every day a little more fun. If you want a dog full of personality, love, and energy, Blondie is your girl.

She’s incredibly smart and knows sit, stay, down, recall, leave it, place, and even how to “smile.” She’s also tried agility and absolutely loved it. Blondie is very much a Border Collie times ten always thinking, always moving, and always ready to be part of whatever you’re doing.

Blondie is very dog friendly and loves having canine buddies to play with. She’s submissive if another dog corrects her and has never been in an altercation, but her herding instincts can definitely annoy some dogs, especially smaller ones who may feel overwhelmed by her intensity. She would do best with dogs who enjoy playful, active companions.

While Blondie is energetic and playful, she prefers a calm, peaceful home environment overall. Too much chaos or constant activity can stress her out.

She’s been around people of all ages and is incredibly loving once she knows you. Inside the home she can initially be barky or a little nippy with strangers, but with treats, a leash, and a little patience she warms up quickly. She enjoys playing with older kids, especially ages 9+, though younger running children may trigger her instinct to herd.

Like many Border Collies, Blondie used to have an interest in chasing bikes and cars. She has made a lot of progress with training and mostly ignores them now, but she still needs supervision in environments with fast-moving wheels.

Cats are hit or miss for Blondie, so a cat-free home would be safest.

Blondie is fully vetted and ready for her next chapter. She’s being returned through no fault of her own and is now looking for a foster or forever family who will love her goofy grin, smarts, and her dog-friendly, playful personality.

- Adopt Aspen! -

Aspen is a 4 year old tripod border collie mix looking for forever. DNA results in pictures.

Aspen is the silliest, goofiest, sweetest tripod around. This happy girl is always ready to make you laugh with her antics, zoomies, and playful personality. She’s incredibly affectionate and loves being close to her people. If you’re on the couch, expect Aspen to be curled up right on top of you for snuggles. Her favorite game is Tug o War, and she’s always up for playtime, treats, or an adventure.

Aspen is very much a Border Collie mix and comes with all the smarts, energy, and herding instincts that make the breed so fun. She’s extremely food motivated and eager to learn, which makes training a blast. She does best in a home without cats or small animals since she loves to chase squirrels, bikes, and other fast-moving things. Aspen enjoys playing with other dogs, though she can be a little reactive on leash, so slow introductions help her feel successful. She also gets very excited meeting people and may jump up to say hello, so a home without small children would be best.

As a tripod, Aspen has adapted beautifully and doesn’t let missing a leg slow her down. She’s potty trained, crate trained, and has learned to navigate stairs like a champ. Rugs or carpet help her feel more secure on slippery floors, and once she settles in, she adjusts wonderfully. Aspen would thrive in an active home with a big yard, lots of toys, and people who will embrace her goofy loving spirit. She’s truly such a special girl and has so much love and joy to give.

A reactive dog isn’t usually what people imagine when they dream about their next pet, and it definitely comes with its ups and downs.

Your dog can end up being your whole personality, your alarm system, and the reason you suddenly know everything happening within a three block radius at all times. It can be hard and it can also be so rewarding.

You will develop elite people and dog spotting skills and a level of situational awareness you didn’t know was possible. “Sorry, my dog can’t do that” becomes your all purpose response for unwanted social plans and interactions. Somehow, without signing up for it, you also become a dog trainer.

You learn patience, timing, consistency, and most importantly how to actually read body language instead of just reacting to behavior. You start thinking less about “fixing” your dog and more about how to set them up to succeed in the first place. In doing so you develop an incredibly strong bond with your dog.

Reactive dogs aren’t easy but they’re incredibly honest teachers. They make you more observant, more intentional and weirdly good at celebrating the smallest wins. And in the process you end up with a bond with your dog that’s built on understanding, trust, and showing up for each other.

And if you’re thinking about adopting… don’t overlook the misfits and reactive pups. They might not be the easy choice, but they’re often the ones who bond the deepest and teach you the most!

- Norm & Rubble Spread Some Smiles! -

Norm and Rubble got to spend some time visiting the residents at Windsong at Eola Hills Memory Community and it was one of those days that reminds us why we do this!

Watching residents smile, laugh, share stories about the dogs they’ve loved and light up when the pups climbed into their laps was incredibly special. Norm was completely in his element soaking up lap cuddles and attention while Rubble did his best to keep the puppy chaos under control and gently make the rounds for pets.

It’s wonderful to see our pups bring comfort, connection, and joy where they go.

Visits like this are only possible because of the support we receive from our community! Donations help cover food, vet care, training, supplies, and everything it takes to keep rescue dogs healthy, safe, and able to show up for moments like these.

Thank you for helping us keep doing this work and creating moments like today.
