2026 GAIGs USDF Region 1 Championships complete ✅
3 days of showing 3 perfect horses! 🦄🦄🦄 Flexi, Kip and Blue consistently got better as the show went on and were so fun to compete.
Flexi went Reserve Champion in the First Level Open Freestyle Championship!!! 🎉🥹 She danced her way to a 69.347% and qualified for the US Dressage Finals later this month. 🦁🥳🎟️
She earned an average of 66.111% in the 1st Level Open Championship, placing in the middle of a large class of over 30 amazing horses. She received two 8’s and was actually placed 7th by the side judge’s opinion- we’ll take it! 😂
Flexi also competed in the Second Level Open Championship, earning a respectable 62.024%. We were very happy with the ride given she’s still new to competing at this level. She also won her 1st 1 test on Friday with a 69.074%! 🥰
Kip the wonder pony did very well this weekend and put in some solid tests in the 60’s. It was fun seeing her compete in the Pony TOC classes receiving 2nd, 3rd and 5th place ribbons! Kip and Rachel also competed in the First Level Freestyle AA Championship.
Their music is from the Greatest Showman and they delivered an awesome performance! They earned a 66.208% and 10th place in a competitive class. Unfortunately championships only place through 8th, so they missed a ribbon by less than .5%. If there was a sportsmanship award at regionals it should definitely go to Rachel Day, whose motto everyday was “just happy to be here!” 🎩🎪🦄
Blue and Meaghan had a very good first regionals! They competed in the AA Dressage Seat Equitation Finals, earning a 77% and placing 6th out of 24 riders! 🎉💚
They earned a 62.569% in the First Level AA Championship, placing in the middle of a competitive class of over 40 horses. And in the Second Level AA Championship they scored a 61.131% placing 15th out of 30 horses and received a 9 on their final halt! Last but not least, Blue won his 1st 2 class on Friday with a 66.212%! 💙
Shoutout to our barn-mate Colleen and her horse Oliver on their great rides this weekend! Way to go.
Regionals are a tough - as they should be. There were over 500 horses competing this weekend. This show is kind of like the Kentucky Derby in a way… huge field where anything can happen… and you better know how to ride in the mud! ☔️ 😂
We had a great time seeing old friends and making new ones! Congratulations to everyone who competed! ❤️
