This young dog was diagnosed with demodectic mange by a skin scraping examined under the microscope revealing the cigar shaped mites. Demodex is not contagious but is hereditary. It is easily killed with the flea/tick chewables. Formerly, dogs were euthanized due to no effective treatment.
