Our mission is to help educate the public about the importance of wildlife and wild places through our unique Wildlife Connection Encounters. Sunset Wildlife Connection is a non-profit 501(c)(3) exotic animal rescue and community outreach program. Wild places, the environment, and animals are struggling to survive in the wild due to human impacts and climate change. Each animal in our environment

is important and we are here to teach you why and what you can do to help wildlife around the world. Through our wildlife encounters, our goal is to share our passion for wildlife and conservation with you in hopes that you will want to also conserve our planet and the amazing animals on it.

16 years ago, a 10 week old kitten walked into my work place. I took him in with intentions of bringing him to a no kill shelter, fortunately, that never happened.

Zipper and I lived together for next 16 years. Through moving to different states, through break ups, through college, and starting my career, Zipper was there through it all. He was my rock, my consistency, my everything. My heart cat. My soul mate.

It feels like something is completely missing from my life. I cried washing your dish, I cried vacuuming up your fur, I cried over you as you passed peacefully. I am so glad you are no longer in pain, but I miss you so incredibly much!

I know we will meet again, but I will miss you until then. Thank you for everything you have done for me. I hope I made your life as perfect as possible for you. I love you Zipper πŸ’”πŸΎπŸ–€

I found my beautiful sweet cat passed away this morning. He was 14 and had previous health issues, but was such a lover and will be so so missed. Gold was a previous show cat and helped educate the public about how amazing rescued animals are. He performed at the Pets Ahoy Sea World show in San Antonio from 2013-2020 (the full duration of the show). Tommy and I took him in and gave him the best retirement possible for the past 6 years.

Worst part is that I have appointment to take my 16 year old cat in tomorrow to be euthanized because he is also at the end of his life and it has become a quality of life issue. I will make a separate post about him because he was my heart cat who I owned for the whole 16 years.

Making these posts are never easy to but I want to thank you guys for listening. In a way it helps me to process and share their stories. Each animal is precious and important in their own way. Hug your fur babies for me πŸΎπŸ’”

Less than 5 weeks before my scheduled c-section!! 😱 It feels like yesterday that it was Christmas Day and we were announcing our little baby to the world ☺️

In case you are new or didn’t know, I am 8 months pregnant and run an exotic animal rescue, Sunset Wildlife Connection. I work very hard (maybe a little too hard), and with a c-section, my doctors want me to take a full 6-week maternity leave. It costs $120 a day to take care of the animals (I volunteer a lot of my time). This will help me to pay a zookeeper a day to care for the animals during the hot summer months! πŸ₯΅ Every donation, even a $1, will help to put my mind at ease and help me heal and bond with my new baby πŸ’•

If you’d like to donate, please follow the link πŸ’ https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/margarets-maternity-leave

The other two new rabbits did amazing again today too at the libraries! This just proves that desense and training can go such a long way! Our team has done great work with all of our new bunnies and we are so happy they are coming along great.

They will be going to our Santa Rosa libraries next week, so make sure you check them out and meet our newest members of SWC
