Meet Mavis!💜

Mavis is a 7-month-old Lab/Hound mix who came to us from one of our rescue partners in search of the loving forever home she deserves!

At just 26 pounds, Mavis is the perfect size, and we don't thin she will get a whole ton bigger! She's small enough to fit comfortably into just about any lifestyle while still being ready for all of life's adventures. This adorable girl is full of personality. Mavis is spunky, playful, and always ready to have fun, but she also loves spending time with her people. She has quite the little personality, as she has been keeping all of us at NAWS laughing. She LOVES to play and is always ready to party - but then is out cold during nap time. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, is great with cats, and does well with children, making her an excellent candidate for a family looking for a loyal companion to grow up alongside their kids.

Whether it's family walks, backyard playtime, weekend adventures, or snuggling on the couch after a busy day, Mavis is ready to be part of it all. She has so much love to give and is eager to find a family she can call her own! ❤️❤️ Meet Bobby! ❤️❤️

How can you resist this cute face? This is Bobby, a 3-year-old boy who loves to “supervise” our volunteers. He was rescued from a high kill shelter in Kentucky where he was placed on the euthanasia list. To save his life, he made the long trip to NAWS where he now has a chance at a loving home and long life. He deserves it!

Bobby is as cute as he appears in his pictures. He is a super sweet and snuggly boy. He gets along with other cats, but is probably more interested in people! He follows our volunteers around and shows that he wants affection. Give him a little time to adjust to a new home, and he will come out of his shell and show his sweet personality. He is a gentle, curious and friendly cat that will be a great addition to a home once he feels comfortable.

Welcoming Lark to NAWS! 💙

Lark arrived earlier this week from one of our rescue partners, and we are already completely smitten! This handsome guy is a 5-month-old Terrier mix weighing about 24 pounds. Judging by those adorable paws, we think he still has quite a bit of growing to do! Lark is everything you could want in a puppy- happy, sweet, playful, and full of love. He enjoys making new friends wherever he goes and gets along wonderfully with kids, other dogs, and even cats. We're soaking up all the puppy cuddles while we can because we have a feeling Lark won't be with us for long! He is ready to find a family of his own and begin the next chapter of his life.

❤️❤️ Meet bonded brother and sister, Rainy and Windy! These adorable 3-month-old kitten siblings, are ready to share their love and start their lives with a forever family.

Rainy, the male kitten with white on his chest, is a wonderful example of a comeback kid! As a young kitten, he was diagnosed with megaesophagus, a condition where a cat's esophagus dilates and loses the muscle tone needed to push food into the stomach. We are so happy to report that this little fellow has improved and appears to have grown out of his condition. He is no longer taking medication. Rainy used to benefit from a special standing feeder, but now simply requires raised dishes while eating. He hasn't had issues with keeping his food down for several weeks now.

Rainy's special needs are now only limited to a certain feeding schedule and a little closer monitoring, He has had success with being fed 4x a day. Less time between meals has prevented him from eating too fast. His foster indicated that if she notices him licking his lips after eating from time to time, she will hold him upright, burp him, and give him an antacid which helps. We are hoping to find a compassionate adopter who sees he is quite a little survivor and worth a bit of extra effort! He will repay you with his devotion and companionship for life! Rainy is an incredibly loving, playful and clean boy. He comes when called like a puppy, and he loves to cuddle upright on his foster's chest. He is definitely attached to his sister, Windy, and will meow for her.

Let’s not forget his adorable sister! Windy is an independent female kitten who is bonded with her brother. She is quite the little cutie! She loves to free roam, climb and explore. She is adorable and will be an entertaining and fun addition to a home along with her brother.

We will be having Kitten and Cat Adoption Events at NAWS on Saturday, June 13th and Sunday, June 14th from 11:00am - 3:00pm. Several amazing kittens and cats will be coming in from their foster homes just to meet you. Plus, we have so many wonderful adoptable cats that currently live at NAWS, all patiently waiting for their forever people to walk through the doors. We are confident we can help you find one (or two) that are the perfect match!
