Raquelle is a sweet, affectionate little mix-breed who was found as a stray in Saluda, SC, on 8/2. She has recently had puppies, but despite searching, no puppies have been found. Because of this, we suspect she may have been dumped AFTER giving birth. When she was picked up, she was covered in ticks and fleas, needed a nail trim, and was quite stinky. Now that shes been bathed and vetted, she’s looking for her fur-ever home.
Despite everything she has been through, Raquelle is incredibly loving and adores people. She is very people-focused and could likely become a Velcro dog. If you’re looking for a companion who wants to follow you everywhere, Raquelle may be your girl. ❤️
One of her absolute favorite things is riding in the car (or the golf cart, she can’t tell the difference). She is fantastic in the car and loves being a passenger princess, making her a great potential companion for someone who travels frequently or even a trucking dog.
Raquelle also does wonderfully off-leash with people she knows. She tends to stick close and follow her person, although she’s still learning how to walk nicely on leash. She doesn’t pull on leash, it just seems to annoy her.
She’s comfortable around other dogs and seems to enjoy their company, but she can be a little dominant, so slow, controlled introductions are a must. She is currently much more interested in getting attention from people than playing with other dogs, so we haven’t seen her truly play with anyone yet. Raquelle has not been fully tested around cats, but she has been around them and does not show aggression toward them. She seems more curious/wary than anything else.
Raquelle is still learning the basics, including crate and leash skills, but she is a loving, eager-to-please puppy with so much potential and especially after what she’s been through, she deserves a home where she can finally feel safe, loved, and wanted.
