I was recently shocked to find out people think milk pasteurization uses chemicals. It does not. Pasteurization kills bacteria like TB, Listeria, Salmonella, E. Coli, and many other bacteria by heating the milk to a specific temperature for a specific time. That's it, no chemicals, soaps, etc.

Learn what milk pasteurization is, how the process works, and why it helps improve safety and consistency without significantly changing milk’s nutrition.

I often hear: "I'm not sure I can take in another pet after losing this one."

I know it hurts. A lot.
Loving again isn't betrayal. It's tribute.
Your heart isn't a single-occupancy room.
Each pet you've loved has its own space there, irreplaceable, eternal.

The one you lost taught you how to love, how to be present, how to find joy in small moments.
Opening your home to another animal doesn't replace them.
It honors them - passing forward the love they gave you.

The love stays. Always.

May is National Arthritis Month. In Animals and Humans.
Some tips on how to help their, and your, joints:

1) Weight Management
The MOST important component to managing a pet’s arthritis is keeping them at a healthy weight. Excess weight can increase stress on joints, worsening inflammation and speeding the destruction of cartilage.

2) Joint Supplements
There is significant evidence to support the use of joint supplements, such as oral omega-3 fatty acid supplements, oral glucosamine/chrondroitin supplements, and injectable polysulfated glycosaminoglycans. These products are generally very well-tolerated and are available over-the-counter.

3) Rehab Therapy
Rehabilitation and conditioning exercises, such as swim and treadmill therapy; and range of motion, can help to strengthen muscles and improve range of motion reducing the signs of arthritis.

4) Transitioning dogs and cats to a Prescription Joint-Friendly Diet.
Joint-friendly diets contain natural anti-inflammatory agents and ingredients that serve as building blocks for cartilage development. Some joint-friendly diets are:

Hill’s J/D (canned/dry/small bites)
Royal Canin Mobility Support JS (dry)
Royal Canin Mobility Support JS large breed (dry)
Iam’s Joint/Canine (dry)
Purina JM Joint Mobility (canned/dry)

5) Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine in which thin needles are inserted into specific points on the body to achieve a therapeutic (often pain-relieving) effect.
