On our way to the CGA meeting on Saturday morning, this was in our west pasture! This is a not a normal thing to see, but with the drought in the mountains, the bears and other animals are hungry and definitely expanding their range! It’s been “one of those summers,” but we have had some rain - finally! Grass is greening up and starting to see some growth. Meanwhile, we are still feeding and moving cattle regularly. In a normal summer with good grazing, they would turn up their nose to protein cake. But, they still come to that cake wagon when it shows up!

It’s always amazing what you can see at times! We often see ducks but never one all by itself, seemingly completely content, swimming around a stock tank!
