URGENT: Kumi is crying out for you, and her heart is breaking in the kennel.
This breathtaking, majestic Akita / Norwegian Elkhound mix is losing her spirit more and more each day. Kumi cannot handle kennel life anymore; she spends her days crying at the door, desperate to find her human and get out of her concrete run. A dog this proud, loyal, and deeply intelligent cannot continue to deteriorate in a stressful shelter environment. Despite her current heartbreak, Kumi remains an absolute dream on walks, displaying excellent leash manners and moving with focused control by your side. She has flawless house manners, is fully housetrained, and is ready for a seamless transition into a home. Kumi comes fully vetted with a comprehensive medical package including her spay, microchip, vaccinations, and all current preventatives. She has a strong, independent personality and must be the absolute center of your universe as the only dog in the household. Please help us save her before she shuts down completely.

Our rescue is located in Mocksville, NC and we generally adopt to within a few hours of the rescue. Since Kumi needs an adopter with previous Akita or Norwegian Elkhound experience, we are prepared to consider adopters who are farther away than that.

Hershey is the sweetest girl who almost didn't make it out of a high-kill shelter alive, and now she is desperately searching for a second chance at happiness. She deeply misses the comfort of a true home, the routine of family life, and the simple joy of curled-up evenings next to her favorite humans. Despite the terrifying heartbreak of being left behind, her gentle, loving soul shines incredibly bright. She is fully house-trained and gets along wonderfully with other calm dogs. Hershey asks for so little—just a warm bed, regular meals, and a family to love her back forever. ‼️🩷Meet our longest resident, Ms. Olive, a truly special and devoted girl who is ready for a loving forever home. If you are looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion with a huge personality, Olive is the girl for you.

Once she finds her person, Olive is the most loyal companion you could ask for. She adores her primary handlers, is great off-leash, loves outings to Tractor Supply, and will never leave your side. She has excellent recall and knows several commands, including 'sit,' 'down,' 'no,' 'stay,' 'wait,' and 'ride.' She loves car rides and adventures, and she thrives when she has a "job" to do—even if it's just helping load the dishwasher or running errands.

Olive can be selective with her canine friends, but she gets along very well with cats or farm animals. Her forever home would ideally be one where she can be the center of her human's world.

All of Olive's vet work is complete and up-to-date, including her spay, microchip, deworming, and vaccinations. She is a total love bug who just needs the right person to give her a chance.

Sitting quietly and respectfully the entire ride home from a local shelter, this stunningly handsome gentleman was giving us the tiniest glimpse of his potential.

Already rescued once by a local individual, Luke had it made……..or so he thought…..until his owner unexpectedly passed away. And Luke, a liver spotted fellow reported to be ~ten years old, found himself once again shelter bound.

After a few days of learning his new home, this guy began showing us an even bigger and sweeter personality. Luke has been super courteous, obedient and oh-so-sweet since arriving with his new foster. While very frightened in the shelter, he relaxed quickly, walked on leash immediately, took treats gently from his foster and interacted beautifully with his canine friends. He didn’t eat the first few days which we attribute to him settling in, the heat and perhaps him holding out for more of the chicken and rice he had when he first arrived.
Most recently Luke been showing off several commands already in his vocabulary such as sit and shake. And, he knows the word ‘come’. Mr. Luke jumps right in the car, absolutely loves to be petted and rubbed, bonds with his human quickly and is spotless indoors.

Luke comes with our standard medical package and has been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated for rabies, parvo distemper and Bordetella. He is heartworm negative, is on flea and heartworm prevention and is parasite free. His ideal life would be with a human who can spend lots of quality time with him and give him the enrichment he deserves.

Meet Ziggy, an 80-pound powerhouse of affection who is ready to find his forever sunshine. This big, velvety boy is the definition of a "gentle giant," offering a heart just as large as his sturdy frame. Ziggy is a social butterfly who gets along famously with other dogs, making him a wonderful candidate for a multi-pet household or a family that enjoys trips to the park. 💙💙PupDATE UPDATE!!💙💙We have another wonderful pupdate. This one is about Sirius who has been renamed Avery. This boy is living the life! Loved by all and becoming a great little swimmer. His dog mom tells us "Avery is starting to enjoy the pool! He just didn’t understand the life jacket must come off for potty breaks. However he’s a professional swimmer!!" He brings us joy every day!

Thank you to his family for giving him a great forever home and letting him blossom in every way!

!!COURTESY POST!! This precious little girl was removed from a bad situation where she was not taken care of. She was so skittsh and afraid. It seemed that she was not shown any kindness. However, over the last couple of weeks, she has started to trust humans more, in fact she loves to go on walks and when given a chance, she will take the opportunity to cuddle to go with you. At night she is comfortable in her king size crate. This sweet girl also loves to be with her person. She will follow you around like any good puppy will. We think she is a Husky/pit mix becaus of her markings. Do not let these pictures fool you though. small at 20 lbs. Has the slender body of a husky and super soft coat even though it is short. Another fun fact is that she hardly sheds! Yup, she is very unique and has a beautiful face with those markings.

This gorgeous girl gets along with other dogs and absolutely loves children. No cats because she does like to chase them for fun. toba's housetraining is well underway and she's almost there!

The ideal home for her is one where there is someone home most of the time and can take the time to show her the ropes and give her lots of love and a fenced-in yard for her to roam in. No children under 8 years old.
