recall basics: start with a 6 foot leash, then a long lead, then a drag line, then a fenced in area and always pay with yummy snacks and be an inviting body in motion.

patience is the biggest challenge for all of my dog training clients and for me. and working with any dog requires a lot of it. 😅

the next time your dog is hitting the end of their leash because you walked by a dog and you start sweating just remember that they are having a hard time too and deescalating takes time.

i save the videos too…with the intention of coming back to them and i never do.

and when im working with clients i really want them to see that working with a dog trainer is a collaborative effort that sets the foundation for strong habits that actually stick. and makes life with your dog (even the messy middle) actually fun!
