It has been a pleasure to help all the hundreds of dogs & their owners throughout the Country all these years in the FB Community.
I was recently diagnosed with Liver Cancer that has metastized to my lymph nodes as well as a large mass on my chest. All the treatments available= an 11% survival rate with no quality of life. So, just as I have for all my 4 Leggers, I have chosen Quality in the short time I have remaining. Mara will be with me to the end & has a lovely home to go to when it is over. I am still looking for the perfect place for the Boys. Urban & suburban is too dangerous for them.

My lovely niece has set up this account to help with comfort meds & incidentals.

Visiting the Vet

For many humans, taking their dog to the Vet is a stressful experience. Their dogs act out-they growl or even snap at the staff-not a pleasant time for all involved.
There are several things you can do to make it a better experience. I have taken hundreds of dogs to a Vets Office (some I have only known for a couple of days) and it always goes great.

Before your Vet visit-take a good 20 minute Leadership Walk-it gives your dog a change to release some energy & puts the human in a more calm state of mine.
At home-the moment you get a new dog (or cat) be sure that your dog is comfortable with you touching every part of their body (if you can't, how do you expect the Vet to). When you do your weekly nail clipping is a great time to run your hands over all their body parts.
And because the Vets smells to a dog like a Hospital smells to us human (full of illness & despair) stop by your Vets Office with your dog occasionally (no appt needed)-tell the staff at the counter you are just getting your dog comfortable with going to the Vet, stay a minute & then be on your way.

Heidi went to the Vet on Friday & has a clean bill of health & is ready for Adoption. Mara & her had a great time ( I bring Mara with all the Fosters-she loves the Vet).
Heidi has turned out to be a Lovely dog & has dropped 12 pounds from her daily hikes & good quality food regimen. She will do well with just about any family that is willing to take her for a morning walk/hike & a good run on a daily basis. She hikes Off leash with me. She is dog, cat, human, horse friendly. Kids over the age of 11 (because of her age & size). A home with another dog & cats would be great. Heidi is available through Bluegrass Doberman Rescue-Application is on the website.
