Sorry to be like a box store and market holidays early, but this is just a delightful picture of some early harvesting of several varieties of squash and pumpkins that we grow. We want to share fall news from our farm so people can mark calendars.
1. With fingers crossed, we are planning to do u-pick pumpkins the weekend of October 3rd and 4th (weather permitting). We would consider being open September 26 and 27 for the same if there is a lot of interest. Please message us or comment below and we will take note!
2. Pumpkins will be available in our farmstand beginning October 2 and we cannot wait!
3. Rent a pumpkin, what? If you love autumn, fall colors, and pumpkins, and have a party you would love to decorate for, we can rent pumpkins in quantities large and small to you. This can be a more affordable option than buying. Please message us to find out more on pricing and scheduling a visit.
4. Finally, like many of you know the Mother's Day freeze blasted what looked to be an incredible apple season, along with all tree fruit and June strawberries. Our fall raspberries were affected, we think, as young canes were delayed in growing to mature size. If the weather stays warm, we should have upick berries in a week or 2. If you have been in the patch over the years you will notice the impact weather has had. Trying to be resilient, doing the same amount of work to prepare for next year's harvest, has made us stronger in spirit. Thanks for all the kind words of support, and we tip our caps in thanks to all the farmers out there laboring to feed people.
