We had a great time on our Wood chipping volunteer day!

We were able to cover most of our blueberries and play in the mulch.

Thank you to for supplying volunteers with snacks!

Berry update #2-strawberries!. Every year our farm plants and sells a couple thousand strawberry plants. Of all the fruit we grow, it is simultaneously the most difficult crop and the most breathtaking when the fields are loaded. We have shifted our techniques the last few years, due to some observations and first hand experiences. Instead of direct planting all our bareroot plants, we have routinely potted up about 1000 early in the spring to have well developed plants for field and raised bed planting. This allows us to extend the harvest window as the potted plants tend to blossom out earlier by a couple weeks. Another reason is some of our spring weather the last few years has resulted in a roller coaster ride in the field for plants of extremes in temps and precipitation. Potted plants give us more control early on over environmental influences. Raised bed planting is more intense up front but weeding is much easier and more comfortable on the body. Over all the crop looks quite good this year, so fingers crossed! Potted plants are available by request. $2.50 each, please message us.

Checking in on the blueberry patches this morning, and they are really putting on a show! A decade long labor of love has finally begun to bear a lot of fruit for us. If you would like to learn more about growing these, please message us, as we are the only farm in Missoula (that we are aware of) dedicated to growing them.
