🦃 It’s Almost Pawsgiving! 🐾

Pawsgiving is just around the corner, and our furry residents are getting ready for a little holiday cheer! ❤️

As we get closer, we’re welcoming donations of unseasoned cooked turkey or chicken, green beans, sweet potatoes, and shrimp to help make the holiday special for our shelter animals.

Every little bit helps us give our fur-residents something extra to be thankful for this season!

A Thanksgiving Feast for Our Shelter Pets

This Thanksgiving, we want to give the dogs and cats in our care a special meal of their own — and we’d love for our community to help make it possible! ❤️

We will be accepting Paws Giving food donations November 9–13.

You can choose any day during November 9–13 to bring your donation to Mission Animal Shelter. Let's come together to help make Thanksgiving a little more special for the dogs and cats waiting for their forever homes. ❤️

What can you donate?
• Cooked, unseasoned turkey
• Cooked, unseasoned green beans
• Cooked, unseasoned sweet potatoes
• Cooked, unseasoned shrimp

Please remember:
• Food must be fully cooked
• No seasoning, butter, oils, or gravy
• No onions, garlic, or other added ingredients
• Homemade donations are welcome!

Please wait until November 9 to bring cooked foods. We won't need the Thanksgiving meal donations before then.

A Little Love Waiting to Bloom!

Hi, everyone! My name is Honey, and I’m hoping there’s a special someone out there who will give a shy girl like me a chance.

I’m still young, and the world can feel a little overwhelming sometimes. I may be timid when we first meet, but with a little patience, kindness, and time to feel safe, I hope to show you the sweet girl hiding behind my shyness. I just need someone willing to let me come out of my shell at my own pace. ❤️

I’m currently sharing my space with my kennel mate, Goldie, and I seem to do well having another dog around! I’m also still learning how to walk on a leash, but I’ll do my best with someone by my side, encouraging me along the way.

I may not be the first girl to run up and ask for attention, but that doesn't mean I don't have so much love waiting to be shared. Sometimes, the shy ones just need someone to see their potential and give them the time they deserve.

Meet Goldie — Your Future Best Friend!

Hi there! My name is Goldie, and I’m hoping my forever family is out there looking for a girl just like me!

I’m about 10 months old, and while I might be a little shy when we first meet, give me a little time to warm up, and you’ll start to see my silly, playful side! Once I feel comfortable, I love being goofy and showing off my personality. 💕

I’m currently sharing my space with my friend Honey, and I don’t seem to mind having other dogs around! I’m still learning some things, like how to walk nicely on a leash, but I promise I’ll try my best if you’re willing to be patient with me.

He is microchipped, but the chip is not currently registered. He also appears to be neutered.

He is NOT currently available for adoption and is on a 72-hour stray hold while we search for his owners.

BUBBA HAS BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH. NOW HE DESERVES A CHANCE. ❤️‍🩹

Bubba is approximately 5 years old, and this big Mastiff/Cane Corso mix has already been through more than any dog should have to endure.

Bubba came to us with gunshot wounds. He was in rough shape when he arrived, not only dealing with his injuries but also hair loss and scabby, irritated skin. He received veterinary care upon intake, and thankfully, he's been healing up beautifully! ❤️ His wounds are improving, his skin is looking better, and we're so happy to see him making progress.

But Bubba deserves more than just a chance to heal. He deserves a place where he can feel safe, get comfortable, and receive the love and care he's been missing. A home of his own could make all the difference as he continues to recover.

Despite everything he's been through, Bubba enjoys his walks on a leash and appears to have some good house manners. He seems to be crate trained and may even be potty trained too! He's recently done well in a divided play yard, but he may do best as the only pet in the home. Cats don't seem to be his thing either, so a cat-free home would be best.

BUBBA IS LOOKING FOR ADOPTION OR RESCUE!

Whether it's a loving home where he can finally relax or a rescue that can offer him additional support as he continues to heal, Bubba deserves the opportunity to experience life beyond the shelter.

He didn't deserve what happened to him. But he deserves a future filled with kindness, safety, and love. ❤️

Hi, I’m Rogue. Could you give a shy girl like me a chance?

I may not be the kind of girl who runs up to everyone I meet, but please don’t let my shy side fool you. Sometimes, I just need a little extra time to figure out if I’m safe. New people can make me a little nervous, and I might be unsure of myself at first. But once I start to trust you? Oh, my goodness… I’m a total love bug! 🥹💗

I’m about 2 years old, and I’m still learning that the world can be a pretty wonderful place. I can walk on a leash, but I could use a little more practice and consistency. With someone patient by my side, I know I can keep getting better.

Right now, I have my own space at the shelter. Recently, I’ve done well in a divided play yard around other dogs, which is a nice step forward for me!

What I’m really hoping for is someone who will let me open up at my own pace. Someone who understands that trust takes time, that the shy ones sometimes need a little extra reassurance, and that the love we give once we feel safe is something truly special.

I might need a little patience to show you who I am, but I promise there’s a whole lot of love waiting underneath this shy exterior. ❤️

CHIEF IS READY FOR HIS SOFT PLACE TO LAND.

At approximately 7 years old, Chief is starting to feel his age. His hips seem to be bothering him, and while he may not be able to do everything he once could, that hasn't taken away his happy spirit or his sweet heart. ❤️

Chief still enjoys going for a stroll, taking in the world around him, and spending time with people. He just needs someone who understands that life might be a little slower these days — and that’s okay.

A little about Chief:
- Approximately 7 years old
- Happy, sweet, and still enjoys going for walks
- Dog-selective and likely to do best as the only dog in the home
- Looking for a loving home where he can relax, get comfortable, and enjoy the simple things in life

Chief doesn't need a big adventure or a packed schedule. He deserves a soft bed, a gentle hand, a little patience, and someone who will love him through his golden years.
