We have three 3.5 month-old kittens looking for their perfect match! These brothers have been living in a loving foster home for over a month and are well-socialized with children. They are healthy, happy, and fully ready for their new families! Each boy has been neutered, is fully vaccinated, and microchipped 🙌

🥳 Reduced Adoption Fees:
In honor of Cat World Domination Day (June 24th), we have reduced the adoption fee to $50 for the rest of June!

As a reminder, your adoption fee goes directly back into helping more animals in need. We currently have 11 more kittens in our care waiting for their final vaccines and spay/neuter surgeries. By adopting one of these boys, you are helping us save the next group.

In the Rio Grande Valley, the stray cat population is a massive issue. Did you know that a single unaltered pair of cats and their offspring can theoretically produce thousands of kittens in just a few years? By neutering even one cat, we stop that cycle in its tracks, preventing hundreds of future kittens from being born onto the streets without a home.

The New World Screwworm is a flesh-eating fly whose larvae (maggots) invade and feed on living tissue. While it was eradicated from the U.S. decades ago, recent detections near and within Texas have raised concerns for livestock, wildlife, and pets.

Dogs and cats are at risk, especially if they:
• Have open wounds, cuts, surgical sites, or skin infections
• Spend time outdoors
• Live in or travel through South Texas and border regions
• Are stray, community, or free-roaming animals

⚠️ What to watch for:
• Wounds that suddenly worsen
• Foul odor from a wound
• Visible maggots or larvae
• Excessive licking, pain, or irritation
• Swelling or discharge around a wound

If you suspect screwworm, seek veterinary care immediately.

Meet Max, a handsome Persian boy who will be turning 1 year old this September! ❤️

Max has grown up in a home with children ages 11, 8, and 6, so he is very comfortable around kids and loves being part of a busy, loving family. He enjoys attention, playtime, and being included in the daily activities of the household.

Like any good cat, Max also appreciates his quiet time and is happy to relax on his own when he’s ready for a nap or some peaceful downtime.

Max has been around dogs, particularly during grooming visits. While he may be a little shy or nervous when first meeting them, he adjusts well and does fine overall.

🐱 About Max:
• Persian cat
• 10mos old and weighs around 7lbs
• Neutered
• Vaccinated
• Negative for feline diseases
• Great with children
• Has been exposed to dogs
• Sweet, gentle, and affectionate personality

‼️ The True Cost of "Just One Litter" ‼️

Meet Carmie. She is barely a kitten herself, around 8 months old, yet she is currently fighting to keep eight tiny lives afloat. She is doing the impossible, nursing her own five 4-week-old kittens while also mothering the three kittens left by her twin sister who dumped them on her. And despite being fed, she remains painfully thin; her body is being drained to sustain a cycle that she never chose.

🚨 This is the reality of the stray cat crisis.
Every "oops" litter, every abandoned cat, and every unplanned pregnancy leads to stories like Carmie’s. Sadly, there were originally 10 kittens in this group.. now only 8 remain. This is the tragic, silent toll of feline overpopulation caused by the simple failure to spay and neuter.

📢 We are taking action.
Carmie will be spayed today. We are officially stopping the cycle with her. But what about the eight kittens? The reality is that we cannot break this cycle without your help. While we are immensely grateful to the sponsor who made Carmie’s surgery possible, the need for these kittens is critical. From basic medical care to the daily nutrition required to get them healthy enough for adoption or rescue transfer, the costs add up quickly.

It’s Raining Kittens ☔️🐱

We’ve had a busy couple of weeks here at BnB! Yesterday, we spent the entire day getting our newest rescues started on their health journeys. We successfully vaccinated and dewormed six kittens.. all between 6–8 weeks old.

• Willow & Cookie: These two were found as strays living outdoors, struggling with a heavy flea infestation. They are now safe in a wonderful foster home where they’ll get plenty of love from kids, dogs, and other cats!
• Nyx, Athena, Eros, & Helios: These four were born to a stray mama we TNR’d last week. They have been lucky enough to be in a safe foster home since birth.

We need your help to keep this momentum going 🙏 We just purchased a new tray of vaccines to cover these babies and three others we vaccinated last week, but we are already almost halfway through our supply.

This year has been overwhelming with the number of stray kittens needing help in the RGV, and we are working tirelessly to ensure every single one gets a fair start at life.

Remember Ariel? 🖤

The sweet cat trapped for TNR who turned out to be pregnant during her spay. After learning she had likely once been an indoor cat before ending up outside, we knew we had to try to change her story.

Ariel is still looking for her forever home or rescue transfer. She absolutely adores people and would be the perfect solo companion cat.

But today, we need help for Sasha—one of Ariel’s previous kittens 😔

A caring couple in the neighborhood has worked hard to care for and TNR the community cats. Sasha was one of the hardest to catch, until she chose their home as a safe place to have her kittens.

At only around 8 months old, Sasha is still a kitten herself, but now a mom. Her babies are about 5–6 weeks old, and it’s time to stop the cycle. We are getting Sasha spayed today so she never has to have litter after litter again.

Since starting our TNR program, we have fixed over 60 cats, reducing stray overpopulation while helping some find homes or rescue placement.

We urgently need $90 for Sasha’s care today to cover: spay, blood test, vaccines, pain meds, and preventatives.

It truly takes a village. We cannot do this without your support, fosters, and rescue partners. Together, we can help more stray animals in the RGV 🙏

Max is an 8-mos old Persian who came to us when his owner developed severe allergies. We are so incredibly grateful they chose to reach out for professional help rather than rehoming him without knowledge of the breed’s specific, high-maintenance needs.

Why Max Needs Our Help:
Persians are unique, beautiful cats, but they come with specific requirements that potential owners must understand.
• Daily Grooming: Their dense fur requires daily brushing to prevent painful matting.
• Brachycephalic Care: As a flat-faced breed, Max faces lifelong health challenges, including potential respiratory issues, eye irritation, and dental crowding.
• Safety First: Their anatomy makes them ill-equipped for the outdoors, especially in the intense RGV heat.
• Preventing Exploitation: By taking him in, we have ensured he won't fall into the hands of those who might breed him for profit.

The Good News:
We have secured a wonderful rescue partner in Virginia who is ready to take Max in! He will soon be trading our hot climate for much cooler weather where he can thrive.
