We have years of experience to help you fix common problems, including behavior modification for the toughest issues. The most important question we are asked is about our methods. It is also one of the most complex and misunderstood components of dog training. There are a lot of trainers who have not evolved, and continue to use the most archaic methods of dog training. There are others who have

hyper-evolved, and believe that just using treats will provide the results you seek. Aversive training and “pure” positive treat based approaches tend to only last as long as the aversive or the food reward are available – we prefer you live the “dog life”, which doesn’t mean managing your dog all the time, it means creating a thinking dog! Our **net-POSITIVE** system is proven, effective and is based in true science, psychology, and a common sense approach to building a relationship that lasts. We are not an advocate for using e-collars for training obedience. We prefer to teach our dog owners how to build a good relationship based on trust and respect. Our training will not be based on using food to illicit behaviors, although we will use some food rewards to build a relationship with your dog. A dog that only works for a treat quickly learns that it only has to listen when treats are being given. We do not believe a relationship is forced or bribed into existence. Interrupting your dog's inherent drives followed by proper praise yields the best results. Teaching proper interruption, and proper praise is part of the process. We call this **net-POSITIVE** training because we focus on the positive. It is when these drives outweigh their intellect, causing them to be impulsive, they appear to be bad dogs. Teaching a dog to control its impulse to chase, jump, hunt, or react negatively is what we do. You cannot forget the drives, because they still exist. We teach you how to satisfy those drives, as well. In short, we teach you how to become a good leader! One key point to remember is that dogs are not human. Too many failures come when the pressure to "be human" is put on a dog. When you understand that dogs do not have nearly the neurons in the brain that humans have, and they have drives that control them, you can get to the core of the problems your dog is having much more effectively.

If you have a WORKING DOG and you want an advantage, keep reading. Law Enforcement, Agility, Protection Sports, Dock Diving, Barn Hunt, etc... this is your dog's edge. The combo that I am using is giving me incredible gains in performance and recovery with my own 11-month old Dutch Shepherd, and it's backed by science.

Food alone is NOT going to do it, even if you feed raw. You've got to open the protein delivery system. You've got to protect the muscle. You've got to nourish it to speed recovery time. You also need to support the joints and soft tissue surrounding the muscle. By combining these 2 products, your dog gets a complete system for healthy muscles and joints while supporting the gut & digestive tract, and overall wellness.

Try the combo for 2 weeks and you will see changes. (Most people notice changes in a few days). In a month you'll wonder why you didn't come see me sooner.

This is also an incredible blend for aging dogs who have muscle wasting, soreness, and lack of energy. We are seeing great results in every dog that has started the routine.

My first scoop is a popular supplement known to prevent muscle breakdown and stimulate protein synthesis, particularly in fast-twitch muscle fibers. These fibers are responsible for explosive power, speed, and heavy lifting.

Fast-twitch fibers are larger and prone to high levels of damage during intense, explosive training. This supplement supports them in several ways.

Decreases Protein Breakdown:
It inhibits the degradation pathways (like the ubiquitin-proteasome system), protecting fast-twitch muscle proteins from being destroyed during intense workouts.

Stimulates Growth:
It boosts protein synthesis by activating the mTORC1 signaling pathway, which is crucial for building and repairing these larger, power-generating fibers.

Enhances Recovery:
Research shows it can improve muscle stem cell proliferation and mitochondrial function in fast-twitch muscles, making it easier to bounce back from high-intensity training.

The second "scoop" is a blend of probiotics, vitamins & minerals, plus a joint support blend with anti inflammatory properties to keep my dog performing at his very best.

Come see me and I will share this amazing combo with you. If you can't stop by, no problem. Comment WORKING DOG below and I will send you a DM with the complete protocol I am using.

I will show you a 3rd product to boost the brain and immune system, too.

If you have an aging dog that needs support, write AGING DOG in the comments and I will send you the complete protocol with the special tweak for stronger neurotransmitter support for hind end weakness.

This year is the 250th Birthday of America, so expect incredible celebrations. People are going to celebrate with fireworks whether you like it or not. That's facts.

Is your dog ready? Did you heed my advice and start doing noise acclimation training right after all the New Year's celebrating that your dog couldn't cope with?

If not, you're behind the curve and you are running out of time.

You are going to need a few things to ramp up your training. No need to buy anything, you've probably got it at the house - maybe on the floorboard of your car. Ready. Set. Go.

Grab an empty water bottle, a sauce pan big enough to fit 5-6 pieces of silverware in, a handful of silverware, a couple small blocks of wood AND your dog's favorite toy, food, treats.

Now, for the hard part... skip your dog's dinner meal, you want your dog to be eager to eat. Get up early and make your favorite beverage and get ready to play with your dog. You need 5-minutes a few times a day, so it's going to require approximately 30-minutes of effort from you including set up time. Can you do that?

Your dog is hungry, you have noise makers, you have your coffee... have you figured out what to do yet? Here's a hint: crinkle that water bottle. What does it sound like? The thinner the bottle the better.

Rather than accepting that your dog is easily spooked, condition them. If you want a great supplement to help, I suggest VetriScience Composure. L-Theanine, Colostrum, and Thiamine in your dog's system WHILE training is a great way to kick off the party. Start giving it to your dog at least a day before you start noise acclimation training for best results.

There is no magic pill or chew to replace exposure, no closet comfy enough to make your dog feel better, no snuggles meaningful enough - because your dog wanted you to teach it to be FREE and BRAVE and you didn't do it.

Gather up your supplies and get to work. Your dog is counting on you to step up.

PSA: If you have an animal brought here and you don’t want them, at least call and tell us. Why? Because then we don’t have to hold them on a three‑day stray hold, and we can actually learn who they are — their personality, what they like, what they don’t, and who they get along with. It makes finding a home for them much easier.

When you don’t say anything, we’re left guessing, and that puts staff at unnecessary risk, and extra stress on the animal. Every animal deserves a fair chance, so do right by them and let us know.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Have you been looking for a dog trainer that DOESN'T rely on an e-collar for proper manners? Well, you just did.

I say this every few years as the subject comes up - I am not 100% anti-ecollar. I AM anti-dependency. I AM anti-misuse. I AM certainly anti-abuse.

E-collars can provide a layer of training and efficiency in performance for a lot of dogs, there is no argument there. The problem is that it is a tool often used incorrectly by trainers and dog owners alike. It creates more issues in the long run when used incorrectly. Dogs can become anxious, shut down, and just not happy when used incorrectly. They can also become reliant on the e-collar because their owner never learned how to train the dog to cope or think, only how to avoid discomfort. To some people this is enough for their dog. For most, they want more. I believe dogs deserve more.

We work for reliability through play and repetition, exposure and increasing thresholds, expectations with great reward. My dogs recall off prey-chasing. They might not respond well to your dog in their face. That's your problem, not my dog's. My own dogs are reliable, social, and have pretty solid manners and don't wear e-collars. They are happy. They aren't perfect all the time. They are dogs, not robots. I demo them all over the place with confidence. I don't NEED an e-collar on them to do so.

Always ask your trainer what tools/methods they use in training, and WHY. Don't sign up for training you aren't comfortable with. Go into training with your eyes wide open, don't get surprised. If you are afraid to ask, you definitely shouldn't be leaving your dog with someone to train your dog. If you don't want to carry a remote with you everywhere, don't let your trainer use one. If they can't provide results without one, well... are they a trainer or just a button pusher?

Maybe we should do a LIVE and discuss advantages and disadvantages of different types training. If you have questions, drop them in the comments.

Bohdi finding peace while Tanner works with a young GSD in the store.

Bohdi came in dog reactive - mostly an uncontrolled desire to let them know he was present, but it could turn ugly when other dogs didn't approve of his advances.

Shout out to Bohdi's owner for making the commitment to train, grow her skills as a handler, and give Bohdi the chance he deserves.
