Pie is a nice stout gelding looking to find his next job. If you’re looking for a big soggy ranch horse to camp out on for hours at a time and make light work of dragging c**ts or bulls around he has the motor and size to be really handy. He is light on his feet and doesn’t feel clumsy and putzy like some bigger horses can be. He would be best suited with an experienced owner as he is a bit watchy on the ground and does best with consistent handling. While he can be a bit watchier on the ground, he does stand tied well, stand to be fly sprayed, and loads on the trailer well. He is freshly trimmed and has nice big solid feet (and a super nice thick beautiful tail that most folks spend years trying to grow).

Yesterday was so balmy I figured “Rosemary” could get ponied out on her second saddling (and her first time being ponied). Thankfully Jen and Laynes mare “Twiggy” and I have ponied many c**ts together so she was the professional hand at teaching the little one how to behave. The only way Twiggy could be a better c**t starting horse was if she was draft sized 🤣 By the time we got back to the yard both were ready for a nap. Nothing like a good calm pony horse to teach the young ones how to be confident and how to behave!

He might be destined to be a barrel horse but that doesn’t mean he can get away without a little ranch horse pole work (at 5° and snowing outside) 🤣 gonna miss this fella when he’s gone, he has been one of the most rewarding horses I’ve had in training.

Now here’s a post I have really been dragging my feet on. I am offering up one of my personal mares, I had such big plans for her but life happens and a wedding and new house don’t pay for themselves.

❄️TC Frosty Princess “Elsa”❄️
3 yo red rabicano mare (yes has a skunk tail and roan flanks. Her flanks are more roan in summer)

The top side on her papers needs no introduction - some of the most well known horses in the cutting and cowhorse world. The bottom side rounds her out with more using ranch breeding going back to Sunfrost and Freckles Pl***oy x2. She rides true to her papers, she is athletic and quick but has good bone, foot, and a temperament to be used outside all day without falling apart - mentally or physically.

I would consider Elsa green but she will stay in full time work until she finds a new home. I put about 7-8 rides on her fall of her 2yo year, two of those rides were at the livestock barn in town penning cattle. By the end of her second day there she was opening and closing gates. She had nearly a year off to grow and mature until the beginning of September and she has been getting rode fairly regularly since. Being she is one of my personal horses, she does not get the consistency that my client horses get but she is not one to crucify you for inconsistency. She is a pleasant mare to be around, great for the farrier, stands tied, loads quietly, stands to be hosed down/bathed, and has ran with other mares and geldings of all ages and never been a problem. She will get tight and cold backed if left to sit for weeks, but after a few laps on the lunge line you can step on and she is fine. She has been hauled quite a bit and I just rode her in her first fall gather today and she was great. She would be really well suited in a working ranch and/or rodeo home.

Who before his early passing at only 8 years old was starting to get consistent and hit the 1D. He had a kind personality, was athletic and wanted to please. One of his stallion ads is pictured below.

Who herself was a full time ranch horse and weekend 2D-3D barrel horse until she sustained a career ending injury and retired to broodmare status.

Merritt has been with me for a few months now to get a good foundation that can take him any direction. He comfortably w/t/c both directions, moves off your leg, has a good stop and back, picks up his leads and stays soft in the bridle. He has been progressing well and is starting to counter arc with confidence at the walk and trot and is learning to pick his shoulders up and stay elevated. Merritt will stand tied quietly all day, load on the trailer, stand for the farrier, is easy to deworm and stands for a bath. While he has a solid foundation, he is an incredibly sensitive horse and would do best with a very confident and competent rider. He does not have a mean bone in his body and I can get on and lope circles, school shoulder control and put a little pressure on him without any buck or rear. However, he is not the horse you can leave sit then get on and whoop and ride, he can get tight and nervous and you have to be able to feel that and bring him back down to earth (which is entirely possible and quite easy, but you have to be able to feel it building in the first place). I think he would do best going into a performance home and started on the barrels - if he was someone’s main c**t he would really blossom. There is a video attached below - in this video he was hauled to a friends outdoor with banners on the fence, equipment buzzing by, and in the video they were chopping silage beside the arena so it is a real life glimpse into what this horse is like on a regular day. He has really grown on me and I’m hoping he can find his partner who will finish him out.

We have a bunch of alfalfa pellets bagged up again. Bags range from 1/2 ton to a hair over a ton. $0.28/lb, so that would make the half ton bags around $280 and full ton bags around $560. All the pellets came from Muggli brothers out of Miles City and have been transported/stored dry. We have fed them to all classes of horses including yearlings, lactating broodmares, 2 year olds in training, and all levels of performance horses and they all excel on them. We have fed them to our roping calves too and they did really well on them. If you’re looking for a cheap and easy way to combat ulcers in your performance horses I swear up and down horses I get in for training fill out over their top lines, get less cinchy, and less touchy around their abdomen after a couple weeks on these pellets. You can also work hard keepers up to free choice pellets as needed.

This mare is one of Zach’s personal mares out of his family’s multigenerational program. Due to her being a personal horse, Flirt got a bit of a later start but she is well on her way to being a trusty ranch or rope horse. I have about 20 some rides on her and she is still getting rode daily. Flirt has more woah than go and has no desire to go faster than asked. That being said she will move out and has a nice long trot and nice lope. She is the kind of horse that isn’t afraid of much and in time has the personality to be a kids/beginner horse. She stands to be trimmed, loads in the trailer, is easy to deworm, and stands to be bathed. She is utd on shots, dewormer, and farrier work. I have started to track and rope the hot heels on her and will continue to do so until she finds a new location. She has full and half siblings that have gone on to be PRCA to Junior High level calf horses and bang up ranch horses. We are asking in the mid fours, please message me for more information.
