The moment he fell asleep beside us was months in the making. ๐
When we first began caring for Cashew, he was unsure of us. We wanted to comfort him, but first, we had to earn his trust.
So we slowed down.
Calming music. Low voices. Avoiding direct eye contact. Sitting on the floor, gently tossing treats, and giving him room to decide how close he wanted to be.
Sometimes, we simply sat quietly nearby. No pressure to interact. Just company, at a distance he could handle.
We kept showing up, patiently, over months. Some pets need extra time to adjust, and weโre willing to take that time.
Then came the moment you see at the end of this video: Cashew sleeping right beside us. Watching him rest there, after remembering where we started, meant so much. ๐ฅน
At Pawsitively Pink Pet Services, we notice and celebrate these quiet moments. Sometimes the best company we can offer a frightened pet is space, patience, and a person willing to sit quietly with them.
If you love a nervous or shy dog, weโd love to hear what helps them feel comfortable. Their little preferences matter. ๐พ
