Our Rochester and Hugo hospitals will be open continuously from Friday, September 4 at 6 pm through Tuesday, September 8 at 7 am.

Meet Dreka: Social Butterfly, Running Buddy & Professional People-Lover 💟

Dreka may have arrived at MACC feeling a little shy, but it didn’t take long for her true personality to come shining through. This girl has officially blossomed into a happy, outgoing social butterfly who thinks meeting new people is one of life’s greatest joys.

Dreka’s volunteer fan club has LOTS of good things to say about her:
🔹She loves people, and we mean REALLY loves them. At a recent PetSmart adoption event, Dreka wanted to meet every single person she saw.
🔹She makes an awesome running buddy! After getting her initial zoomies out, she settles into a nice jog. And when the run is over? She’s perfectly happy sitting together on a bench, taking in the scenery and enjoying your company.
🔹She’s adventure-ready. Dreka hops right into the car and rides nicely in the back seat, making her a great candidate for field trips and outings with her future family.
🔹She’s playful and fun. She loves toys and can get a little jumpy or play-mouthy when she’s excited, but she’s easily redirected and is already showing that treats are excellent motivation for practicing her manners.
🔹She’s interested in other dogs. Dreka has been described as “go go go” with canine friends and can sometimes be a lot for other dogs in playgroup; she’s an enthusiastic girl! She may do best with a dog who appreciates her play style, and as always, slow, thoughtful introductions to resident dogs are encouraged.
🔹Bonus: She’s easy to walk and appears to be potty trained!

Underneath all that fun energy is an incredibly sweet, affectionate girl who seems just as happy heading out for an adventure as she is sitting beside her person and watching the world go by.
