🏁 Ace headed home today after his one-week refresher, and if we had to describe him in one sentence:
Ace is the canine equivalent of a Ferrari.
He’s fast, powerful, driven, and always ready to hit the gas. But a Ferrari doesn’t need less horsepower—it needs a driver who knows how to use it.
Trainer Hank has worked with Ace since he was a puppy. We started with puppy foundations, followed by a three-week Board & Train while his family traveled internationally when he was about six months old. Now, a little over a year old, Ace came back for a one-week refresher while his family traveled again.
Dogs like Ace are why we believe so strongly in building foundations instead of simply managing behaviors. High-drive dogs don’t need less energy. They need clear communication, structure, and direction.
At NSFK9, everything starts with our Canine Pyramid:

Because that foundation was already in place, it didn’t take long for Ace to reconnect with his training. The language was already there. The communication was already there. The expectations were already understood.
That’s also why we’re able to offer lifetime support. Once the language and communication system are imprinted, they stay with the dog. Even after time away, it often takes just a few minutes to remind them of the rules of the road.
And because Ace is a more mature dog now than he was during his first stay, we weren’t just able to return him to baseline—we were able to build on it and push him even further.
Ace is an incredible dog, an incredible athlete, and an absolute blast to work with. We’re proud to have been part of his journey from puppyhood through today, and we can’t wait to see where the road takes him next.
