Hi all! Pippin here. (Pip for short 😉) In my 14 years of age, I've learned a thing or two about how to be safe year round. I'm here today to share some of my fall tips with you!
We all know that cooler weather and earlier sunsets make fall a favorite for outdoor time, but it also brings new risks for us pets. Here are some tips to keep in mind, so you can help keep your pets safe!
🌙 Nighttime walks – Shorter days mean darker evenings. You can use reflective gear, or light-up collars, to help keep your pet visible in low light.
❄️ Cooler temps – Seniors dogs (like me!), puppies, and small breeds (my size or smaller!) may need extra warmth. A cute sweater or trendy jacket can help with chilly temps!
🦝 Wildlife activity – Fall is the time for deer, raccoons, and coyotes. While these critters are kind of cool to bark at, be sure to always keep pets leashed to avoid unsafe encounters.
🍁 Leaf piles and debris – These are so fun to sniff and explore! However, they can hide things like ticks, mold, or sharp sticks, which can lead to illness or injury.
Prevention is important, but accidents still happen! If your pet gets hurt, or into something they shouldn’t, give us a call. We’re here to help!
